2014 is the 25th Anniversary of the Málaga Orienteering Club (COMA)

and we would like you to celebrate it with us, in this Spanish Championship 2014 (CEO).

We have organized many events over the years, endeavoring to promote

and share this sport, always with great enthusiasm.

For this event we have chosen Antequera and Archidona, two of the most

beautiful towns in Málaga which in turn provide very interesting countryside for Orienteering.

While enjoying this Spanish Championship, you will discover the kindness of its people, their

amazing gastronomy, and the traditions that are celebrated during Easter weekend

Both races, "Medium Distance" (WRE) and "Long Distance", will be run on maps with scale 1:10.000 to provide

greater detail . Under consideration maps with scale 1:7.500 for categories over 55*.

TERRAIN ✓ El Romeral: mature pine with good run-ability and moderate climb.

✓ Nacimiento: young pine reforestation alternating good run-ability areas with limited climb, with

others of low vegetation and steep climbs. The bushes and hedge areas are mapped in detail.

✓ Conique: map that alternates fast runnable open land, mixed with detailed hillsides forest.

✓ Torre Hacho: mature hillside pine forest full of small details and moderate climb.

SPORTIDENT SYSTEM: The Sportident system will be used in all official categories (M & W) and in the OPEN categories following the

normal protocol. The participants without sportident must rent one of the organization with a cost of 9€ for

the whole CEO (plus a deposit of 25€, that will be pay back when the sportident is returned)

RELAY TEAMS: The INTERNATIONAL Orienteers wishing to participate in the Relay Race, may indicate

this through the registration form and whether they will team up with another registered team known to

them or if they wish for the organization to include them in a forfeit. For those who wish to form their own

team, they can fill in the details of each reliever in the starting order in which it was published on the web

for that purpose.

LONG DISTANCE This will be the first event of the CEO2014. The map will have a 1:10.000 scale to make it easier to read.

Under consideration 1:7.500 scale for categories over 55.

RELAY This is the most spectacular event of the annual calendar, and it will require the maximum collaboration

from participants , because:

1. We will need a registration in the specific form.

2. In this form we will need the orienteers details in the same order as their starting times.

3. After the Registrations Closure, WOULD NOT BE ACCEPTED MORE REGISTRATIONS.

4. The Teams Participants will then be published so we can detect errors, and they will be closed on the 8th of April.

5. On Friday 18 changes of the runners will be allowed, but the number and category of the teams participants could not be modified.

SPRINT This is a World Ranking event - WRE.

There will be no quarantine, but the participants must access the area using the streets marked on the map

provided. Each participant must have all they need, drinks etc a change of clothing for after the race. The

traffic won't be cut during the event; it is mandatory that the participants respect the traffic rules, other

people and cars. There will be control descriptions available.

MEDIUM DISTANCE This is a World Ranking event - WRE.

Competition where the orienteers will navigate for different terrains during the race. Under consideration

scale 1:7.500 for categories over 55. This is a World Ranking Event, and it

will closure this CEO2014.

WOMEN RACE We would like to organize a race near Antequera city, so there are participants that are coming for the CEO,

and the ones learning this sport. This race is organized by the "C.O.M.A Girls", and there will be prizes for

the winners.

O-PRECISION Spanish Championship for this category. exclusively disabled competitors . Soon more detailed information

on our web and in the next bulletin.

REGULATIONS: The current regulations by F.E.D.O and I.O.F. (W.R.E. Events) will apply

NURSERY: During the competitions Long, Relay and Medium distance, there will be a nursery service for children in

between 2 & 7 years old. The "string course" race will take place from there. Registrations needed using the

formulario Guardería.

CORRELIN If the weather allow us, there will be a CORRELIN Course for children under 8 years old for the 3 days of the

competition. It is necessary to register before the 31st of March using the form “Formulario CORRELIN”

ACCOMODATION: Attention: it is Easter, so High Season and busy occupancy; we recommend to book in

advance.

1. CEULAJ:

Capacity for 100 people (half board) from dinner on Thursday 17 to breakfast on Sunday 20th; total

prize of 45€/person (included 3 nights half board; it must be reserved beforehand using this

FORMULARIO (FORM) and they will be allocated as per rigorous order of receiving the payments for

the reservations. It is not possible to "re-use" the services (accommodation, breakfast or dinner). It

is located in Mollina, around 15min from "Estadio de Atletismo" of Antequera (check situation map)

2. Touristic Acommodation and "Casas Rurales" in Antequera-Archidona and surroundings:

Accommodation List of different type of places. It includes some special offers for the CEO. Go to

3. “Suelo Duro”: hard floor accommodation

The organization will provide with places in the hard floor “Suelo duro” for the first 400 request

with a cost of 3€/person, in the covered "Estadio de Atletismo" in Antequera (go to map). It must be

reserved while doing the registration. There will be some

rules and timetables that should be respected.

4. Motorhomes:

The organization will allocate an area for the motorhomes. It won't be allow to spend the night in the competition areas.

PRIZES ✓ The Official Races for the CEO will have a FEDO medal and certificate, for the first 5 classified

qualified for the championships.

✓ Women's Race: prize for the first 3 classified.

✓ The World Ranking Event Competitions (Sprint and Medium Distance) will award prizes for the first 3 classified Elite women and men for the Medium Distance race.

✓ Trophy XXV ANNIVERSARY Club COMA to the total times for Long Distance, Medium Distance and Sprint.
