Montgomery Surgical Center, currently the largest freestanding surgical center in Alabama and one of the largest surgical centers in the United States. Recently our clients have been seeking a more cost effective means of completing their smaller size projects. They feel the traditional ‘larger project’ approach often has not been price com-petitive for their diverse project needs. While the traditional approach is a proven method for pro-ducing high quality, on-time projects, our clients have asked if there is a more cost effective way to achieve the same results.

To respond to these owners, we have created the Special Projects Division. This separate entity within our company is designed to provide owners with a tailored approach to their needs. The goal is to provide construction ser-vices at the exact level required to successfully achieve the clients’ objective on their smaller projects. This means staffing and supporting the project with just the right amount of supervision and overhead to achieve the end results.

Instead of the traditional method of on-site project managers, superintendents and field engineers, we will supervise the project with an on-site supervisor whose skills match the needs of the project. A project manager will handle the details of the job from the main office. The individual needs of each special proj-ect will be thoroughly reviewed by the division manager, and only those items that are essential to the project’s success will be included in the overhead.
