regrettable but this decision was necessary to align our manufacturing capacity with market conditions and lower our cost structure in line with lower production levels. The Luxembourg plant has greater capacity and higher productivity. The primary frame production capabilities include robotic welding and a more efficient process flow. MSB building components are also produced at the Luxembourg plant. An added consideration favoring the Luxembourg plant is the poor condition of the Přerov building roof which we assess to require major repairs in the near future. Certain labor intensive components will continue to be produced at an adjacent facility in Přerov. Engineering, logistical and administrative services for our CEE Builder/Dealer network and customers will also remain in Přerov.

Despite weaker growth in the construction sector we are achieving very positive results in several regions. Russia in particular continues to be a key growth market for Building Systems. To support this growth the construction of the factory extension in Yaroslavl, Russia is in progress and will

be completed in the fourth quarter. This will increase local production capacity by 60%. Another major market opportunity for our systems is Belarus. Alutech Incorporated, a leading producer of aluminum roller shutter systems, sectional doors and aluminum profile systems located in Minsk has placed its sixth building order with us recently. Sales in Germany have also remained steady throughout the first quarter underlining the strength and quality of our Builder/Dealer network.

We are confident that our strong sales activities, the quality and strength of our Builder/Dealer network and our focus on production efficiency improvements and new products and systems such as multistory car parks will support our vision “to be the preferred supplier of sustainable solutions for industrial buildings in Europe, Russia and CIS”.

In January Lindab lowered the Company’s growth target reflecting a slower growth forecast for Western, Central and Eastern Europe. Despite weaker market conditions Lindab’s organic growth target will likely exceed the relevant construction market growth by two to four percentage points.

Consistent with weaker demand for our products, Lindab Buildings announced the downsizing of the manufacturing capacity at the Přerov, Czech Republic facility in February. The loss of jobs is always very

Since last January more than 50,000 professionals in the construction branches including architects, engineers, craftsmen, contractors, investors and other trade representatives took part in the International Construction Fair Budma 2012 in Poznań, Poland. BUDMA International Construction Fair provides a forum for the leading construction businesses in this part of Europe to meet.

BUDMA is the place where companies can present their new products and introduce their innovative solutions to the market.

That is why Lindab Buildings decided to inform about rebranding, new products like parking decks, recent developments. It was also great opportunity to meet business partners and find new clients.

Lindab Buildings shared a stand with long term Builder W.P.I.P. company from Poznań which promoted its new conception “Industrial Green Building” and previewed the design of their future office.

Lindab Facade Cassette System exceeds any expectations offering an aesthetic solution for demanding wall cladding of hall structures, offices, as well as public buildings.

The external wall cassette system looks like sharp horizontal and vertical lines on the wall facade, in square or rectangular shape, providing an exclusive appearance for the building.

Lindab’s facade cassettes are very easy to assemble; it is simply a matter of clicking them together and fastening with screws, this makes the assembly both quick and easy. A small, yet significant, detail is the cassette’s drip, which prevents water collecting in the joints.

The elegant corner solution and the concealed joints give the facade a

perfect finish; the cassettes are tailor-made so that they naturally comply with the facade’s architectural language and in terms of color, the architect can use his everlasting creativity when taking Lindab Facade Cassette System into consideration.

RoboticsState-of-the-Art Developments

During recent months, Lindab Buildings developed a robotized welding system for pre-engineered welded section beams in the Diekirch facility located in Luxembourg.

Thanks to the state-of-the-art in house OPSys CAD-CAM development, providing the ability to design the tailor made buildings in 3D, an ambitious project has been launched to create the automatic generation of welding robot programs out of the 3D digital drawings.

The freshly installed robotic cell is now operational and able to weld steel beams via a simple human-machine interface that each welder can use without having to program the robots at any time.

After few months in service, the results are positive; the first station output compared to manual welding is a great step in efficiency enhancement and significantly improves our competitiveness, in line with our strategy focus.

We have lost count of the printing buildings built by Lindab Builders in Europe: They are in France, Germany, Luxembourg, Poland, Russia, Czech Republic and other countries...

The specific requirements for the printing industry vary according to the respective production technique practiced. The Lindab Buildings system provides flexible design of attractive buildings which meet the different requirements of the customer as demonstrated in the following buildings recently built by Lindab.

For each building, there was the same objective: to meet the business and personal needs of the individual printing premises.

The completion of these three buildings, located in Plan de Campagne – the largest shopping precinct of France – near Marseille, is what we might call a long-term project.

It was built by Lindab Builder Primanova based in Marseille, for the company Dock Européens, one of the investors of the site.

With an area of 1.200m², the two last

TMT Wadowice has built for shoe manufacturer Conhpol in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska (Poland). The 2,800m² steel structure without interior columns and DSR200 roof system was completed within three weeks and the shoe production started one year later.

Designed to the dynamism of Conhpol, these turnkey premises are dedicated to

the production of shoes. The client, Mr Henry Konopka opted for an aluminum blinds system for the front elevation, which at the height of the windows is equipped with actuators for changing the angle of the slats.

The space conception, devoted to work efficiency as well as aesthetic appeal totally satisfied the company owner. He

also underlines the excellent cooperation with TMT Wadowice who already built a previous building for them. Convinced by the advantages of the building system, Mr Konopka already plans future extention with Lindab Buildings.

buildings of this project – a two-storey and a single-storey building – are once again intended to welcome people: an Asian restaurant on the ground floor, a decoration shop on the first floor and a pub in the single-storey building.

Fully respecting the RT2005 French building regulation with 120mm insulation in the roof, 80mm sandwich panels in the walls, the two buildings offer an architectural aspect: panels from FunderMax at the top (wood and resins) with a meticulous calepinage, large panels at their ends and roof overhangs over the different access.

Perseverance and good relationships with his customer werethe keys that gave Didier BOURJAC (PRIMANOVA) the chance to complete this project.

Allplan in 10 Lessons

CE marking according to EN1090-1 will be mandatory from July 1 2014. However, Lindab structures are already in compliance with the EN1090-2 standard. So Lindab can already today affix the “CE marking” on its structural steel products: a real commercial benefit and a competitive advantage.

The CE marking on the Lindab structure covers the main structure: frames, crane rail beams, mezzanine structures, wind bracing and the secondary framing.

The CE marking is a mandatory conformity mark allowing products to be placed on the market in the EU. This product complies with the harmonized EN standard or the respective ETA (European Technical Approval). For all deliveries, a

« CE marking » sheet is added to the transport documents, showing the conformity certificate number and declared product performances. A small label may appear on the labeling of individual or bundles of parts.

More information is available on your Extranet under “News/Marketing News” and “New tools for you”.

Steel-Concrete

Composite Structure To take up the shear forces between the steel beam and the concrete slab, the Hilti X-VHB shear connectors create a steel-concrete composite structure, which is more resistant and rigid than the steel section itself. The concrete is not a dead weight anymore, but contributes to the total resistance. This way the size of the steel beam can be reduced or the admissible load on the existing profile increased.

The Hilti X-HVB shear connectors are fastened using powder actuated technology. This solution has several advantages: installation independent of weather condition, no external energy source needed and no anti-corrosion treatment of the steel deck or beam required. The shear connectors and the deck are fixed in one operation with a light and compact tool. This method does not require specialists: operatives trained by Hilti are capable to execute the work.
