BCAP – BUILDING CODES ASSISTANCE

PROJECT

�Created in 1994 to assist US states in adopting and implementing building energy codes

� Energy Policy Act of 1992 (identified national model energy codes)model energy codes)

� Policy requires states to adopt most current model codes� Incentives provided through economic stimulus funding

� States are allowed to put in place an equivalent code OR add requirements that improve energy efficiency
