The ESG ‘Building Empowerment’ course is a ‘end to end’ green
materials education solution. This self directed, online learning is both
unique and flexible, equipping anyone in the construction, design and
procurement sectors. The course provides indepth understanding
of concepts relating to Green Building Solutions and current,
comprehensive training for direct application, in the Australian built
environment setting.
This broadly focused Green Building Solutions learning package is
divided into 4 key units with a total of 32 subsequent modules. The
key units are:
1. Environmentally Sustainable Development (ESD);
2. Materials Issues and Solutions;
3. Materials Procurement; and
4. Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Thinking (LCT).
The 32 Modules, which form the course, are delivered through the
following mediums:
• Fully scripted Powerpoint presentations;
• Key learning questionnaires;
• Additional 22 Building Element, Eco-priority Guides; and
• Relevant reference texts.

Building Empowerment is written by David Baggs (FRAIA, GreenStar
AP, LEED AP, CS, ABSA) with the Team from EcoSpecifier Global.
David, the Technical Director of EcoSpecifier Global, is renowned,
award winning green building architect who is an author and
practitioner of ecological building design. He is a prominent
sustainability educator and researcher within this field, notably
responsible for the development and presentation of the original
