TIPs & TrIcks• When using Powertabs® and Powertape® apply tabs first, then tape.

• Always apply Powertape® across the entire length of the top and bottom edges of the banner over the top of the Powertabs®. Running the tape only part way will not achieve full strength.

• It is normally not necessary to use Powertape® on all four sides of banner, but if you want to do so you must dissolve the tape’s silicone coating before overlapping at corners. To do so use nail polish remover (acetone) on a soft cloth and rub the glossy surface for about 10-15 seconds, then wipe dry. The surface will be dulled and the overlapped Powertape® will adhere. Finally, punch hole through overlapped tape, Powertab®, and banner media using a PowerPunch®.

• For best results, when using Powertape®, roll finished banner with the print side out in a large diameter roll (6 inches or more).

• To prevent Powertape® (or any adhesive roll) from sticking together or to tabletops, dust the sides of the rolls with common talcum powder or corn starch.

• When using Megatape®, apply tape first, then fold banner edge, then apply tabs.

• DO NOT use Megatape® to make pole pockets. Instead we recommend Poletape®.

• For best results when cutting Poletape®, fold the liner side of the tape back on itself then cut with a razor style letter opener. To avoid sticking, lubricate razor before cutting (furniture polish works great!).

What is the difference between Banner Ups® and PowerTabs®? A. Banner Ups® are made of a thick standard grade plastic with foam adhesive designed for hard-to-stick-to surfaces. Powertabs® are made of a a thin, flexible, highly engineered film and adhesives that are designed to work together with Powertape® to produce even greater strength, especially on larger banners. Powertabs® also have a corner-friendly shape and come on a convenient easy peel liner. Powertabs® are available in white and clear for digital color banners. How do I decide which PowerTabs® products to use? A. -For indoor or light duty outdoor banners, use Mini Powertabs®. -For outdoor banners up to 6 ft. in length, use four large Powertabs® at the corners

(with rope going through the center hole). -For banners over 6 ft. use large Powertabs® at the corners and add edgetabs®

every 2-3 ft. along the top and bottom edges, then apply Powertape® along the top and bottom edges of the back of the banner.

-For ultimate strength, use Megatape®, fold edge, and apply Powertabs®, placing rope through the center hole.

Should I apply PowerTabs® or PowerTape® first? A. Always apply Powertabs® before Powertape® as the tabs will not stick to Powertape®. If using Megatape®, apply the tape first, then fold edge and apply Powertabs® last.

Should I apply PowerTape® along all four edges? A. This is not necessary. We recommend that you install Powertape® along the two long edges of the banner, as they absorb more stress. If you want to use Powertape® on all four sides, please see special preparation instructions on the previous page.

Can I use grommets with PowerTabs® or PowerTape®? A. yes. In most cases it won’t be necessary because Powertabs® are much stronger than grommets, especially when used with Powertape® or Megatape®. However, our customers frequently mix and match our tabs and tapes with grommets to achieve the desired results.

How long will Banner Ups® products last outdoors? A. Our products are designed to withstand rugged outdoor conditions for several months. Some customers report banners lasted over a year!

Can I use megaTape® to splice banner media or to make pole pocket banners? A. NO. Only Poletape® is designed for this application.
