ABOUT US

ABOUT GEORGIA

International Exhibition Caucasus Build is organized by ExpoGeorgia. The exhibition center is the only exhibition center in Georgia and one of the leading centers in the Cauca-sus region. The company organizes exhibi-tions, various conferences, conventions and events. The history of the Exhibition Center begins in 1958. Large-scale construction works began in 1961 and resulted in 11 exhibition pavil-ions, aerials, a water feature and a park in the center of Tbilisi. During the Soviet period, the Exhibition Center consisted of permanent exhibitions of industry and agriculture to emphasize Soviet achievements. Once a year, space was dedicated to international exhibitions.

In 1994-1998 the organization was privatized and the company became a joint stock com-pany. Infrastructures have been renewed. The exhibition center “ExpoGeorgia” has been assigned an important role - attracting foreign capital on the one hand and opening international markets for Georgian business-es on the other hand. Over the years, “Expo-Georgia” became an excellent platform for decision makers to evaluate new products, to establish contacts, to enhance relationships with suppliers and to make purchases. Many local and international companies consider “ExpoGeorgia” as a reliable partner and an important alliance for establishing and devel-oping business relations.

Georgia is situated at the dividing line of Asia and Europe and is a member of the UN, COE, WTO, BSEC, OSCE, CDC, GUAM and ADB.Georgia achieved robust economic growth between 2003-2012 following structural reforms that stimulated capital inflows and investment. The reforms helped improve the business environment, strengthened public nances, upgraded infrastructure facilities and liberalized trade. Growth was also supported by increased foreign direct investments (FDI).Location on the shortest route between Europe and Asia, rapid economic develop-ment andgood relationships with its Caucasian neigh-bors (Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia) gives our country the best opportunity to become International hub for the industry and busi-ness development in the whole region of Cau-casus with the population of more than 20 million people. In 2014, Georgia initiated the Association Agreement including DCFTA (Deep and Com-

prehensive Free Trade Agreement) with the European Union at the Vilnius summit, further cementing the business environment and establishing ground for further development.
