Daewoo E&C’s Residual Upgrading Complex and Olefin Downstream

Complex project for S-OIL is the largest-scale plant in the history of

South Korea. The project, which involved transforming low-value

residues from crude oil refining into high-value gasoline and propylene

products, cost approximately USD 3.2 billion on a construction site of

1.1 million square meters, and used 110,000 tons of rebar. Completed in

April 2018, the heavy oil desulfurization facilities included the nation’s

largest heavy oil cracking plant, allowing S-OIL to enter the high-value

Creative spaces and industrial hubs

Daewoo E&C is leading the evolution of architectural technology in the Fourth

Industrial Revolution era, presenting new standards for the construction of

skyscrapers and intelligent buildings both at home and abroad.

The G-Tower in Songdo is considered to be a pioneering example of a “green” office

building, with tenants that include the Green Climate Fund, an international member of

the environmental movement. The tower produces 17.8% of the energy consumption

required for its operations through a combination of solar power, geothermal heating,

and other forms of new and renewable energy sources. The tower is also efficient in

terms of energy utilization. It uses natural design techniques to achieve a grade one

level of building energy efficiency, and includes an atrium with a double skin system

that prevents outside air from entering the interior directly. Daewoo E&C was awarded

the grand prize at the 2012 Korea Green Construction Awards for the project.

in 1983 with the construction of a

participated in the building of a super-

sized landmark project, the Ilham Baru

training and education, and technology transfers.

Mutually Beneficial Management Activities

Establishing a fair and just selection process

Applications from potential business partners are taken year-round through our online

abilities and their financial stability, with extra points being given for such sustainability

items as safety, the environment, labor, and ethical management.

Evaluating the quality of our partners and their operations

We assess the operations of our business partners by means of in-depth evaluations of

them and their head office operations twice a year. Those partners whose evaluations are

excellent receive benefits like exemptions from contract guarantee insurance, while those

that are judged to be substandard are subject to the cancellation of their registrations,

bidding restrictions, and other sanctions.

funds amounted to KRW 28.0 billion as of 2018.
