June 2010 Bülow‘s Buschtrommel Dear friends, There are only a couple of days left before the World Cup starts. South Africa has soccer fever and we are looking forward to this event too. World Cup – great chances Everywhere we go we see pennants and flags. Friday is declared as a “Soccer day” and everyone sports a jersey for their favourite team. Germany is one of the popular competing nations and we can buy a lot of things in black-red-gold. On various food we see “Fifa signs” and lots of products are labelled with soccer balls and sports stars. On street corners you can buy all kind of flags and fan items. The schools are closed during this time (6 weeks of holidays). Pretoria is one of the venues and we are looking forward to the different nations arriving to compete. The first teams are already in South Africa and preparing themselves for the different games. Ben bought a ticket for 14 €. Together with some friends he will see the game: New Zealand – Slovakia (“at least I can see it LIVE”). OM South Africa has a number of teams who will be sharing the gospel during the World Cup. There are different events where people can participate. We are going to have “Teen Street”(Teenager event) and a number of short term outreaches. During these outreaches we will be over seeing some smaller teams. Each team has their own team leaders, but we will be helping to provide support to the teams. If they need something we will be available.Ben did some teachings regarding to the World Cup (especially for youth leaders). He will also be teaching during the 3 day orientation program (before the teams go to their outreaches). Because of the World Cup our focus is the youth / younger generation. In the next couple of weeks we need a lot of prayer. There will be a number of fans coming to South Africa. North Korea is playing; a country that still persecutes Christians. We hope we can meet fans from Muslim countries. There will be fans who have never heard of Jesus or Christianity. Over the past months South Africa has gotten a bad reputation. Because of the crime, other countries gave official warnings for tourists. We realized again that we need a lot of prayer support. Many friends are affected by crime. In our 4 years in South Africa we never experienced crime personally. We are really thankful !! Please continue to pray for us as a family!! Bülow‘s Buschtrommel

Dear friends,There are only a couple of days left before the World Cup starts. South Africa has soccer fever and we are looking forward to this event too.

World Cup – great chancesEverywhere we go we see pennants and flags. Friday is declared as a “Soccer day” and everyone sports a jersey for their favourite team. Germany is one of the popular competing nations and we can buy a lot of things in black-red-gold. On various food we see “Fifa signs” and lots of products are labelled with soccer balls and sports stars. OM South Africa has a number of teams who will be sharing the gospel during the World Cup. There are different events where people can participate. We are going to have “Teen Street”(Teenager event) and a number of short term outreaches. During these outreaches we will

be overseeing some smaller teams. Each team has their own team leaders, but we will be helping to provide support to the teams. If they need something we will be available.Ben did some teachings regarding to the World Cup (especially for youth leaders). Life with Amy Amy loves going to her crèche, and she likes to play with the boys :). She has a lot of fun and she learns a lot from her teachers. Her English improves daily. Amy has a lot of energy and there isn't one day where she sits still. At the moment we are trying to raise her according to her temperament :).Amy can be quite stubborn, and she does all kind of nonsense. Each day there are a number of situations, where we need / want to have wisdom.

Friends for AnneWe got to know our neighbours (through German cake ) and we are happy for small chats. In February Anne attended a prayer group in our church. There she got to know Cindy. Cindy has 3 children and they have met already a couple of times. Another mother that Anne visits is Mirjam (mother of 4). During other afternoons she meets with OM friends. Because of her work Anne's free time is limited. But she enjoys all these friendships. Anne is hoping that she will get to know other moms in her complex. Unfortunately nothing has happened yet.Within OM she joined the prayer team and had some opportunities in sharing devotions and ladies meetings. Over the next couple of weeks she has some dentist appointments. Please pray that our medical aid covers everything.

BenIn our last newsletter we shared about the people in his team. Last week we said “Good bye” to Jen (US). Her 2 year commitment with OM South Africa came to an end and she went back to America.

The team in Cape Town will get some new team members after the World Cup. A South African / Dutch family will join the ministry. Two other South Africans (Mpumi und Ricardo) will be starting a youth ministry, working alongside youth pastors. It is very exciting.Ben has at the moment a lot of office work, which he doesn't enjoy so much. We hope that it will change in the next couple of weeks. Since April he has felt very tired and powerless. Blood tests showed that his glandular fever is back. Please pray for strength and wisdom.Ben has started to visit partner ministries. The Training team

thgraduates on the 14 of July, and there are a number of people who would like to join the Global Action department.

FurloughFrom the beginning of September until the beginning of December we will be back in Germany. We are looking forward to meet family, friends and supporters. When we made the move off the Base (January) we experienced some financial struggles. Our budget is really tight. (For example: electricity prices went up 25%, and they will go up another 25% in 2011). It would be great if we can find more people who want to commit to support us financially.

Many blessings,Ben, Anne und Amy Bülow
