• To understand what is meant by equality, diversity and discrimination it is important to firstly define these and related concepts
• We will look at a selection of terms, then research others and put them into use when investigating a religion, culture or group

• Stereotyping is a simplified picture that is held by a person of one group about a person of another group
• It means considering people with similar characteristics to be exactly the same, not unique

• Vulnerability is the state of being exposed to emotional or physical danger or harm from others
• We can all be vulnerable, however many people in health an social care are particularly vulnerable due to the nature of their support needs

• Vulnerability is the state of being exposed to emotional or physical danger or harm from others
• We can all be vulnerable, however many people in health an social care are particularly vulnerable due to the nature of their support needs
• A vulnerable adult is someone in need of care services who is unable to protect himself against harm or exploitation
