Empowering People to save Lives

Page 2: BTACC Basic Trauma & Casualty Care - ATACC GroupCare Programme (IECP) which progresses candidates from basic through to the advanced levels. IECP is a progressive and systematic pathway

For many years organisations have relied on the attendance of the ambulance service in the event of a serious accident or major illness at work. Whilst awaiting the arrival of the ambulance, traditionally

trained first aid providers have worked hard to keep them

alive, often without the necessary skills and equipment.

With the 2013 deregulation of first aid provision, an

ageing workforce and ambulance services under more

pressure than ever, organisations must ensure they have

the right people with the right skills and equipment at

the right time should the unthinkable happen.

Work at height, below ground, at sea or in a remote

or hostile environment, BTACC can be delivered with

your location in mind and thus ensures your personnel

are trained to a high standard in an environment they

are likely to find themselves in.

BTACC does not rely on mannequins but uses

experienced live actors as casualties. They bleed,

scream, faint and even fight back, just as an injured

person would. We recreate real injuries using simulation.

You do not have to imagine a wound; you will see it,

feel it and deal with it.

Dealing with polytrauma (multiple traumatic injuries) may

seem beyond the scope of someone with no pre-hospital

knowledge or experience; it simply is not.

BTACC – Empowering People to Save Lives

BTACC has been saving lives for more than two decades and is well proven in emergency services and commercial industry within the UK and abroad. BTACC introduces the M.A.R.C.H approach to trauma

and casualty care with simple and systematic way of

dealing with a wide range life threatening, time critical

injuries.

Whilst first aid at work is suitable for low risk

organisations but based on there local risk assessment,

more and more require a higher level of training in order to

manage potential injuries and sustain life until the arrival

of the emergency services.

BTACC follows the M.A.R.C.H algorithm, guiding the

learner to firstly identify time critical injuries and then

signpost them to the appropriate intervention. With a

focus on the hands-on elements of trauma care together

with incredible casualty simulation, BTACC is not over

reliant on lectures and is the perfect balance of

theoretical and practical learning.

BTACC has been written by leading pre-hospital

doctors and proven over twenty years with a constant

review process based on evidence, developments in

practice and real world occurrence. The aim of BTACC

is to ensure all organisations are equipped with the skills

and knowledge to think, act and do with maximum

confidence when someone is injured in the workplace.
