Early detection of breast cancer is important for increasing chances of survival.
Mammograms are used for this purpose, but there are cases where this method may not be suitable. Mammography has limitations for patients who:
• Are under 50 years old• Have fibrotic breast tissue• Have breast implants• Have dense breast tissue• Have radiation concerns
BT tests are an alternative to these patients. A blood sample is all that's required to run the BT test.
The test measures your blood sample for 5 biomarkers associated with cancer. A proprietary relational algorithm is used to generate a BT score.
The score tells the physician whether there is a presence of breast cancer. It is 97 percent accurate in women 35 to 49 years old and 86 percent accurate in women 50 and over.
