Less room than ever for error exists today in the formulation and implementation of a strategic plan. This is a capstone course of the entire business education program and encompasses in its ambit the application of the different business and theories learned so far. The course is designed to orientate the student to understand, analyze and make pertinent strategic choices concerning management related challenges, issues and problems. Students will develop their cognitive ability to assess and interpret various strategic models and demonstrate awareness in application of the strategic models and analytical tools. Learning Objectives After studying this course students should be able to: Describe the strategic-management process. Explain the need for integrating analysis and intuition in strategic management. Discuss the nature of strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation activities. Describe the nature and role of vision and mission statements in strategic management. Discuss how clear vision and mission statements can benefit other strategic-management activities. Describe how to conduct an external strategic-management audit. Describe how to perform an internal strategic-management audit. Discuss guidelines when particular strategies are most appropriate to pursue.
