For Senate District 47
Delagates and Alternates,
Those of you that know me personally know Im a forthright conservative republican.
Those of you that know me by reputation may recall my last race for commissioner
where I brought double standards and inconsistencies to light that were characterized
by several office holders as trouble making. You have to ask yourself, are things
going so well with our representation at each level of government they are beyond
question or criticism. As a citizen it is our duty to question government when it
appears we are working for government instead of the government working for us.
We will be bringing forth and illuminating facts about the tenure of Senator Ortman
and how her actions do not measure up to the campaign rhetoric.
Ive come to the determination the Senator is more focused on her maintaining her
office than truly representing the most Conservative County in the State of
Minnesota. As conservatives we believe in citizen legislators. Senator Ortman has
proven herself to be a career politician whose positions often seem to have more to
do with her political future than the will of her constituents.
Her changing positions on revenue, tax policy and social issues, have caused her to
couch her responses to the people she professes to represent. Is this what you
expect from your representative? Are you being well served?
Many of you will ask why I am trying to unseat an incumbent republican, Arlen
Spector was an incumbent republican. Its up to you where you want to set the bar. I
WILL push for a conservative agenda. I WILL put forward bills that will reduce the size
and scope of government. We are at a point in time where limiting government isnt
enough. We need to be cutting government. I WILL adhere to the principles of the
party platform and I WILL be effective because I understand how important this is and
as my record shows I will put in the time and hard work to get done what needs to be
done. My voting record will not be compromised because of pressure from leadership
asking me to take positions contrary to what we as conservatives believe because Im
in a safe district. Im in a strong republican district. The agenda I will push will
reflect that fact.
Over the course of this campaign I will be putting forth my positions on the issues of
the day and answering any questions you may have. This is not to imply I have all
the answers. My pledge to you is; I will listen to your concerns, do the research and
give you a concise and informed answer.

As with any job, there will be a learning curve, but rest assured there wont be a
compromise of our conservative principles.
My friend Kevin Masrud announced his candidacy last month. I like and respect
Kevin but I feel I am a stronger candidate from my focus as a government watchdog,
my extensive campaign experience and my ties to a larger portion of Carver County.I know many of you through my business, community activities, republican activism
and grass roots involvement. I wish Kevin well, but believe this is too important to
not give the delegates a choice of someone they know and have worked with.
You can believe when I stand before you for your endorsement or for any other
reason in the future, I wont have to parse words or be careful how I explain my
positions or actions to you. I am not a lawyer, I have not been trained to make either
side of an argument. Im a business man who believes in dealing with people fairly
and honestly. This is what I believe we want in our friends, family and YES
Government. This is what I bring to the table and I ask for your support.
