Improvement Plan

The design of this improvement plan is for the school of Brown Academy. The plan involves teachers, parents, administrations, community leaders and district officials from throughout our small school district.

Members of our district come together to create improvement plans for each school.

Director of Curriculum and Instructional Support

Purpose: Compose summarizations illustrating the focus of the district goals, standards and objectives.

Roles: Attends the superintendent meeting discussing district goals.

Provides the committees with summaries of the improvement needs.

Creates the yearly improvements objectives aligned with the districts goals.

Approves the final Improvement plan.

Implements the Improvement plan.

Meets with the Instructional and Curriculum Support Staff to discuss improvement goals.

Instructional SpecialistCommitee

Purpose: Facilitators of the implementation of program development.

Assessors of curriculum and instruction integration in the classroom.

Roles: Receives the recommendations of program improvement from the teaching committee.

Facilitates the operations of the teaching committee.

Curriculum CoordinatorsCommitee

Purpose: Facilitators of the implementation of program development.

Assessors of curriculum and instruction integration in the classroom.

Roles: Receives the district’s goals from the director of instruction.

Receives the recommended plan from the department chairs.

AdministrativeCommitee

Purpose: Administrative directors that focus on the smooth implementation of new programs in the schools and classrooms.

Roles: Receives the recommended plan from the Curriculum Coordinator.

Modifies the implementation of the plan to focus on smooth transitions into the schools.

TeachingCommittee

Purpose: Involvement of various building level teachers providing recommendation for the implementation of the improvement plan as it relates to implementation in the classroom.

Roles: Recieves the objectives from the curriculum coordinator.

Identifies needs of staff development.

Compiles the recommendation from the teachers.

Observe content area proposals.

Make recommendations.

ParentCommittee

Purpose: Involvement of parents and community leaders focusing on recommendations of the improvement program focusing on development of parental and homework support.

Roles: Receive the improvement objectives and goals from the teachers.

Recommendation for parental support to assist parents in developing at home extensions of the program.

Community outreachCommittee

Purpose: Community leaders and parents working together to research and provide extracurricular activities that will support student learning.

Roles: Receive the improvement objectives and goals from the parent committee.

Focus on the development of community and social activities that support student learning.

Graphic IllustrationCommitee

Purpose: Involvement of teachers , support staff, staff development and administration. Preparing the plan for presentation for final approval and implementation.

Roles: composes the final draft of the plan.

Compiles data and information for presentation in charts graphs etc.

Creates plans and schedules.

Develops schedules for the professional development.

AssessmentCommittee

Purpose: Involvement professional staff with specialization in the area of curriculum, instruction and assessment.

Evaluating and proposing methods on assessment of the program.

Roles: Receives the final proposal from the Graphic Illustration Committee.

Recommend methods and time tables for assessing the progress of the plan.
