Parent Survey

Each year, we ask parents to complete a perception survey regarding the Brookwood staff members

that work with their children. This is helpful for the teachers as they plan their professional growth

for the upcoming year. The survey is completed online and it is anonymous. I encourage you to take

Tam’s Backstage ~ Partner of the Year ~ http://www.tamsbackstage.com/

Tam’s Backstage is a locally owned restaurant located in downtown Cumming. Owner

Brian Tam is not only one of our County Commissioners, but he is also a loyal and

generous Partner in Education with Brookwood Elementary. For the past four years

Tam’s Backstage has donated 100% of the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.

When our PIEs are generous and give donations and discounts, more of the PTA money can stay here at the

school supporting parents, teachers and staff. Please support Tam’s Backstage and thank them for being a

valued PIE with Brookwood!

Thank you TCBY!

TCBY has once again donated the majority of the yogurt for this year’s Milestones

Celebration. We know how hard our Brookwood Bobcats work to do their very best on

these tests, and the PTA loves to reward them. For the past several years TCBY has been over-the-top

generous with either full or large donations of yogurt for this celebration. Please honor them and appreciate

their support by taking the family to TCBY this summer!

Brookwood After School Program

The 2015/16 ASP brochure and registration forms are on the Brookwood website under

Afterschool link. There are some changes for next year so please make sure you read

the brochure before registering your child. If you have any questions contact Terri

We will have limited space in the program next year.

School vacation has started. As we know, reading throughout the summer is one of

the best ways to keep kids’ reading scores from dropping. There are many ways to

keep your kids reading.

1. The Forsyth County Public Library always has free programs for the kids and wonderful books to continue the joy of reading.

2. If your child enjoys reading on a device, we have some options available for them as well.

Our eBooks are available all summer through Follett Shelf. Directions for Follett Shelf are on the Brookwood webpage under student services and then Media Center.

Seeking Pictures for the Historian’s Book

A Historian’s Book is made for the front office each year. This book is available for parents to view when they

are registering their child or waiting in the office. Because the yearbook does not contain pictures of end-of-

year events, we need your help. Please email any pictures you have from the Arts Festival, Field Day, and

End-Of-The-Year Events to Monica Carlson at mmd7999@comcast.net.

Coke Rewards

So far, we’ve earned $260 for the P.E. Department from Coke Rewards, and we are

still getting points entered. This summer, please continue to collect Coke Rewards,

redeem them online, and transfer the points to Brookwood! Detailed instructions are
