I am so sorry that the messages keep changing, but as you will gather from all news sources, the situation is very fluid and it’s become quite an art form to keep up! You will know that school will not be opening on the 8th June. LCC are reviewing this and will announce their decision on Monday so there is still some way to go until matters become clearer and precisely which classes would be affected. Teachers stand ready to put our plans into action, including the new arrangements re social distancing and minimising transmission etc. Supplies of wipes and cleaning products will be available, so neither pupils nor staff will have anything to worry about on that score. Rest assured that as soon as I receive definitive instructions that school can reopen safely to your children, I will share this with you. Many thanks for your continued patience and understanding, and all the positive comments on the remote learning we are providing; yet again it is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, as previously explained, we are not in a position to offer Zoom as a learning platform. We appreciate, however, that children are missing classmates, and you may not be in touch with them. If you would like to make contact we may be able to help facilitate that. For help email the school office. Assembly Theme - This week’s topic is all about Routines: What are they? Do we need them? Are they good for us and why? Please see the accompanying sheets. CORONAQUILT competition

How would you like to help make a Coronanquilt? Normally a quilt would involve sewing and there would often be a story attached to it, such as ‘why it was made and who for’? It’s My Birthday!

There are only two shout outs for birthday children this week:

Nerges in Y3 and Abbie in Y6.

We hope your birthdays are lots of fun and we wish you Many Happy Returns!

Enjoy this showcase of children’s activities!

Joshua has been working really hard everyday and can’t wait to show his two completed exercise books—wow, how busy you have been and such good drawings too!

Kara has been busy in the garden growing beans. She was sad she couldn’t share her birthday with friends at school, but she did have video calls with her Grannie and Auntie on her birthday and a little tea party with unicorn cake in the afternoon - she also got a new Elsa doll too! Super!

Oh gosh look at Oscar’s robot, no wonder he looks pleased with himself! I bet it can’t play football like Oscar can though, but I wonder if it can wash up or been programmed to clean his bedroom?! - there’s a challenge for you!

Just look at this new baby chick that Abbie and Millie have hatched and cared for during lockdown, very eggciting! They have called it Chicken Little—how cute is that!

Please keep letting us know via the remote learning accounts what you have been doing as we are all enjoying the interaction with you.

Like to try another fun science experiment? This one is to test if something is Acidic or Alkaline—but don’t forget you need a grown up to help!

First of all you need to make a base liquid by boiling a red cabbage! When the juice has cooled, pour some into various containers eg plastic cups or jam jars. Then add a small amount of whatever you want to test—try shampoo, washing up liquid, lemon juice, hand soap, food colouring, to see how the cabbage juice changes colour! A change to pinky red means the product is an acid, a change to green is alkaline whilst purple means the product is neutral.

If you decide to have a go at this, or last week’s Lava Lamp, let us know how it went!

Rainbows

This week’s winner is Errin who has counted an amazing total of 12 rainbows outside her house
