R E D B U L L C R E AT I O N built an epic 100x140 tent in McCarren Park that housed six

teams for a 72-hour building and innovation competition. Given only the theme “Signal

to Noise” as inspiration, the teams were challenged to build a musical instrument. What

resulted were six wildly imaginative inventions, built on-site in a state of the art workshop,

that brought original melodies right to Brooklyn in real time. The product of programming

genius and creative cooperation rocked the 10,000 people passing through McCarren Park

with music never seen or heard by the world prior to Northside!

Footwear and accessories brand C A L L I T S P R I N G videotaped bands and created a

Northside-themed mixtape based on their favorite performances. With personal blog posts

about their discoveries on their website, Call it Spring parlayed their involvement in the

festival into an active display of their commitment to the cutting edge, and its influence on

their products.

Microsoft’s incredible B I N G team, in conjunction with NYeC, the group responsible for

bringing New York State’s healthcare exchange online, worked with Northside to release

advanced APIs to NY State’s health exchange for the burgeoning NYC developer community

at a one-of-a-kind “hackathon.” The hackathon’s goal was to build a lifesaving App to help

patients diagnosed with diabetes to better manage their care. A panel discussion led by

top healthcare professionals and industry leaders was presented for a captive audience of

nearly 200 people, followed by a networking event at the Wythe Hotel’s gorgeous garden

event space. Dozens of hackers gathered the following day for a full-blown programming

competition to generate the best solution to help improve the management of care.

J A M E S O N I R I S H W H I S K E Y utilized Northisde as an opportunity to engage their

targeted influencers by erecting an entire Jameson Black Barrel themed, multi-room,

multi-level private event space where over 20 festival bands performed. The brand’s Master

Cooper and Master Blender, flown in directly from Ireland, educated crowds of targeted

consumers by conducting a series of special tastings, talks and demonstrations around the

craft of creating Jameson Irish Whiskey. The brand collaborated with the Northside Festival

to curate captivating content that both bartenders and the casual consumer could enjoy.
