B’Rock Orchestra In the choices it makes for its concert programs, B'Rock combines established works by baroque composers with the lesser-known repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries. In addition, the orchestra pursues a bold and innovative programme policy, in which early and contemporary music meet and enrich each other. It focuses especially on giving first performances of new music wrien with its historic instruments in mind, but the orches- tra also has a reputation for cross-genre productions. Early music in combination with theatre, visual art and or video also form part of the orchestra's DNA. B'Rock Orchestra was set up in Ghent in 2005 on the basis of an urge for renewal and rejuvenation in the world of early music. The selected international musicians specialise in historically informed performance practices. B’Rock Orchestra

B’Rock orchestra gives about 45 concerts every season, both in Belgium and abroad. At home B’Rock is a regular guest at Muziekcentrum de Bijloke, Bozar, KlaraFestival, De Munt/La Monnaie, deSingel, AMUZ, Concertgebouw Bruges, MAfestival and the Festival of Flanders Mechelen.

Internationally, the ensemble has been invited to numerous major concert halls and festivals such as the BBC Proms, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Cité de la Musique Paris, Kölner Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Berlin, Musikfest Bremen, Wigmore Hall, Theater an der Wien, L’Auditori Barcelona, Holland Festival, Wiener Festwochen, Festival Oude Muziek Utrecht, Rheingau Musik Festival, Innsbrucker Festwochen der alten Musik, Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, Styriarte in Graz, Wratislawia Cantans and Bergen International Festival. In 2015, it was voted "Ensemble of the Year“ by the Belgian classical radio channel Klara. The 2018/2019 season features a worldwide tour with violinist Amandine Beyer and dancer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker (Rosas) in a multifaceted production of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. January 2019 saw their début at the Opéra National de Paris, with conductor René Jacobs and director Romeo Castellucci. In May 2019, the artist Hans Op De Beeck, composer Eric Sleichim, B’Rock Orchestra and BL!NDMAN saxophone quartet joined forces for the world premiere of The Valley.

B'Rock has developed structural partnerships with the Royal Opera De Munt/La Monnaie in Brussels, deSingel international arts cam-pus in Antwerp, the Ruhrtriënnale in the Ruhr region in Germany and the Opera de Rouen in France. Finally, the ensemble has recorded for the Archiv label and BR Klassik, among others, and is currently working on recording all of Schubert’s symphonies for Pentatone.
