BACKGROUND:Plasma welding technique grew soon after the WWII, when aircraft were beingdesigned and made from aluminium alloys and not steels which were tooheavy. Ever since, plasma arc welding technique has remained in forefront asa cheap, reliable and proven workhorse for most critical welding right fromaerospace application to even seamless welding of coffee pots or watercontainers. The welded joint can not been seen or felt, with naked eyes orfingers.

The objective of this training programme is to offer a wide range of practicalinformation, apart from the metallurgical complexities that control the design, fabrication, even repairs or reclamation work in problematic materials likestainless steels, super-alloys and aluminium / titanium alloys. MicroPlasma Welding is the low current avatar of the very efficient PAW. Here, lessthan 1.00 mm thick metallic sheets can easily be welded, even down to 0.01mm thickness which is impossible with other welding techniques. Comparisonshould not be made with laser beam welding or electron beam welding as thisequipment cost upwards of 10 times the cost of M-PAW equipment.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Design engineers involved in concept design, engineering design,

    prototype developing teams.

Production engineers in automotive engg., Quality control engineers inwelding/fabrication.

Piping & pipeline laying engineers, Chemical engineers working in plants

maintenance / repairs / reclamation / overhaul work.

Mechanical engineers in sugar processing, paper and pulp processing, nuclear engg facilities, aerospace companies, metallurgical engineers,thin-sheet welding industries like S.S. bellows / wiremesh welded products,

testing and characterization lab teams. Teachers and Trainers.
