VISION Focused on the Future

ESAN is created when the vision of a group of researches and academics of one of the most prestigious universities in the world, the Business School of the Stanford University, is accomplished. In the early 60’s, this group of researches and academics was assigned by the American Government to create the fi rst Spanish speaking business school in the world. Thus, on July 25th, 1963, the Graduate School of Business Administration-ESAN- in Lima was founded, a privileged place in the center of South America, from which knowledge and science in business management is spread to the entire continent. ESAN is always implementing management education proposals that consolidate and become the new training standards.

Global VISION

ESAN means global vision. Its classrooms are an extension of the world and its global faculty transcends frontiers, more than 300 international professors come to ESAN each year bringing the latest in business management. The international dimension is strengthened in the close relationship with more than 70 prestigious academic institutions in the 5 continents, and is implemented every day through the mobility of students and professors who come and go. The international stages extend the global vision of the students, involving them in the spirit and vision of ESAN which projects to the world.

Family VISION

Since its foundation, ESAN is distinguished not only by the rigor and academic excellence in each of its programs, but by a humanist vision with values and institutional mystique that allows it, almost half a century later, to have the largest network of graduates contributing to national development from key management positions in both public and private sector. This wide network of graduates is distributed worldwide. More than 5 000 graduates from ESAN bear the spirit of the vision they received in the classrooms, which differentiates and unifi es them at the same time.

VISION Focused on Sustainable Environment

In 1992, the fi rst e-mail from Peru is sent to the world, a milestone achieved from ESAN campus. In 1997, ESAN was the fi rst business school to provide laptops to students and incorporate them as medium of instruction. The vision of development in ESAN is ecologic, because it is convinced that the use of technology allows to be more sustainable and more effi cient. Nowadays, ESAN replaces thousands of printed pages for digitized material for all master’s degree students. In ESAN, the vision of a sustainable future is shared and spread, since the visionary leader teaches by example.

Innovative VISION

Since the need for increasingly specialized knowledge does not stop, the development of knowledge does not stop either. The leader’s vision allows ESAN to get ahead of the market and expand its educational offer to functional and sectorial master’s degree programs now numbering more than 12. Thus, the MBA is complemented in a diversifi ed way by the Master’s Degrees in Finance, Marketing, Finance and Corporate Law, Management and Development of Real Estate, Organization and Personnel Management, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Health Services Management, Agribusiness Management, Project Management, Public Management and Energy Management, among others.

Decentralizing VISION

ESAN is committed to the national development and education. Thus, ESAN became the fi rst business school to decentralize its operations and offer executive education courses in the regions more than 45 years ago. Today, ESAN’s vision exists in over 18 cities around the country, bringing not only master’s degree, management, specialization and diploma programs, but also we are in process of expanding into neighboring and frontier countries, by initiating the integration process of national and Latin American regions under a model of quality executive education.

Welcome words of the Dean

ESAN will stimulate the participation of foreign professional students, and invite professors to participate in specialized courses fully in English. We need to be aware of the times we are living in. It is imperative to take a dynamic role in adjusting to a world immersed in globalization where regional integration, open markets and emerging economies play leading roles. To obtain profi ts and secure competitive advantages, we need to effi ciently confront the roaring commercial and fi nancial waves implicit in preferential trade treaties or fi nancial joint ventures. In this environment companies, society and professionals can share the benefi ts.

ESAN is currently offering a Dual MBA program with an international approach. The main objective is to train participants to respond effectively to performance demands in a globalized and permanently evolving world. This new perspective will help our students to acquire the skills they need to interact in complex international commercial scenarios that are changing at a rapid fi re pace.

The Program’s admissions standards and curricular structure have been specially designed and are highly rigorous. ESAN guarantees that our graduates will obtain the knowledge and management skills they need to successfully achieve their personal and professional goals on an international playing fi eld. More importantly, ESAN equips its students to recognize, evaluate and seek out new opportunities that professionals around the world may take for granted or fail to fully exploit.

To achieve a truly international context, ESAN will invite foreign students to join our student body and professors will give all courses in English. ESAN is also taking advantage of the agreements it has with prestigious universities overseas to ensure that students can achieve their international goals and become more competitive in times of global crisis.

This is the precise moment to invest in your professional future. Keep in mind that the market is becoming more competitive and the opportunity cost is lower than in the past. The prime objective of ESAN’s Dual MBA program is to form pro-active, versatile leaders who can multitask. Our graduates will learn to evaluate risk, engage in innovation and successfully identify and seek out opportunities.

We invite you to join us and learn to take decisive action in an uncertain world.

FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITYMaster of International Business

MIB students also benefi t from studying in South Florida, particularly since Miami is a major center for international trade and fi nance and a gateway linking the Americas to the world.

The global character of the MIB program is inherent in its curriculum and in the diverse nationalities of the students enrolled in it. Because of the diversity of the student body, students continually share and learn from their multinational perspectives and experiences. In addition to the international business expertise of its faculty, the program features lectures and seminars by multinational, foreign, and U.S. based corporate business leaders.

CHAPMAN GRADUATE SCHOOLThe Chapman Graduate School was rated among the top 15 business schools in

two categories —global management and operations— surveyed in The Princeton Review’s second annual “Student Opinion Honors for Business Schools.” The lists, which refl ect the evaluations of 19,000 MBA students, appeared in the April 2010 issue of Entrepreneur magazine.

U.S.News & World Report’s most recent rankings, titled “Best Business Schools 2011,” placed the Chapman Graduate School at the 24th spot in the “Best Business Schools Specialty Rankings: International” category. For the fourth time in a row (2002, 2004, 2006, and 2008), Business Week has included the Chapman Graduate School of Business in its prestigious ranking. In the current ranking, they are among the top 72 graduate schools in the United States and in the top 33 among public business schools.

The MIB program is a specialized degree focused on the key skills, behaviors and techniques required for students to succeed in the international marketplace. Although global in nature, it emphasizes the knowledge and abilities that are specifi c to doing business in The Americas.

In its 2010 ranking of exceptional graduate programs globally and in Latin America, AméricaEconomía, the leading business magazine in Latin America, placed The Chapman Graduate School 26th among U.S. business schools and 44th in the world. AméricaEconomía has ranked FIU’s full-time International MBA program every year since 2004.

PERSONAL STATEMENT

“Well, my experience studying overseas was very challenging and defi nitely the best decision for my professional and personal life. I completed the MIB program (Master of International Business) at FIU (Florida International University) in Miami.

The MIB program gave me several skills. It not only gave me knowledge about international business but also helped me perform effi ciently within multicultural environments.

By applying through ESAN University, I had the chance to obtain two degrees, one from ESAN and the other from FIU (MIB). My degree from MIB was a key factor in helping me obtain my current job at one of the top 5 global pharmaceutical companies, Novartis.

After completing my degree in Miami, I chose to work in the U.S. This was the beginning of my international work experience. I started at the Latin American headquarters of Novartis in Miami. As soon as I fi nished my one year contract (limited to one year under US law), Novartis relocated me to my hometown with a more challenging job as Product Manager for the Cardiovascular Franchise.

In terms of my personal life, my wife and daughter also enjoyed living in US and had the opportunity to improve their English and meet people from many different cultures. In general, we all met incredible people and made lifelong friends who we are still in contact with us.

For all of those reasons, I feel proud of my decision to study abroad and strongly recommend this opportunity”.
