The Full Bellies Project aims to provide a nourishing meal and environment for underpriviledged children in the Oklahoma City metro area. By involving the children in the meal making process, Full Bellies aims to show children what is involved in making a dinner and to further their education in making healthy life decisions. Our mission is to feed the hungry children of the Oklahoma City metro area by not only filling their bellies, but their minds. Our mission cen- ters on the children, for children are the future and we must do everything we can to make sure they get there. MISSION STATEMENT The Full Bellies Project was founded by Aida Zepeda and Sarah Adams in early 2010 with the idea of feeding a few underpriviledged children in the Oklahoma City public schools area. The two began by simply providing dinners to these students, but when they saw others ways students could be helped, The Full Bellies Project was born. Now with a location on Main Street in Oklahoma City, The Full Bellies Project has become a central location and is helping children throughout the OKCPS school district. The organization involves children in the complete meal process; grocery shopping, meal preparation and clean up. The organization also offers homework help and game nights so the children have somewhere safe to go, a luxury not afforded to many involved. BACKGROUND DONORS’ DINNER The annual fundraiser held in February as a way of thanking donors who have supported the organization. The dinner is free for continuous donors. Tickets are available for the public and are sold to raise funds. The organization’s children are in charge of meal prep and serving and serve as waiters throughout the night.
