REGISTRATION DETAILS

All the students interested in participating in the seminar are requested to get registered by filling the attached registration form. The registration fee of Rs.150 should be paid to the registration counter on 19th November on the spot. Students who are interested to participate in competition should submit their document of Drucker lecture and ppt to the registration counter at the time of registration. Lunch will be provided for the registered students. Registration is essential to get certificate of participation.

INTRODUCTION

Today, the challenging field of management practice is faced with varied issues that are intricate and diverse. Every day, the management gets a new agenda, as it is highly dynamic within its operational environment. Management practitioners are always eager to proffer direction and lead the organizations which are frequently under the burden of various issues and challenges. Their smooth functioning regardless of the challenges is essential in making certain that the organizations retain and bolster their advantages for competing in the dynamic markets. The Seminar on Contemporary Issues in Management seeks to provide a platform where the management grads and learners can deliberate on the challenges faced by management professionals in a complex, dynamic and increasingly risky business environment. The seminar attempts to expose and bring on the surface the issues and dilemmas of contemporary management thinking and practice.

About Druckers Day

Drucker Lectures Competition

In order to impart real management spirit in management grads the competition DRUCKERS LECTURE has been introduced. The competitors have to prepare a document of 5000 words called DRUCTKER LECTURE by considering the most important contribution in management by Drucker. They have to present a power point presentation on the same document before the panel of judges. The best presentation will get the title DRUCKER LECTURE-2014 and abstract of that presentation will be published in ERUDITE, the quarterly newsletter of DMS,GIET.

About Druckers Day

Peter Druckers career as a writer, consultant and teacher spanned more than six decades. His groundbreaking work turned modern management theory into a serious discipline, as he influenced and created nearly every facet of its application, including decentralization, privatization, and empowerment, and has coined such terms as the knowledge worker.Dr. Drucker cared not just about how business manages its resources, but also how public and private organizations operate morally and ethically within society. He respected the values of education, personal responsibility and businesses accountability to society. Dr. Druckers true legacy is his insistence on this value system, and its effect on business, society and individual lives. The prominence of Druckers management concepts in contemporary management arena inspired us to celebrate his birthday 19th November as DRUCKERS DAY. The core objective is to enlighten management grads about the visionary insights of druckers management philosophies.

ABOUT DMS, GIET

GIET (Autonomous) is located at a sprawling campus of about 300 acres called Chaitanya Knowledge City on NH-5. Under the lime light of Chaitanya Group, the Department of Management of three colleges GIET, CIET and GIER started functioning since 2008 and affiliated to JNTUK. We are proud to say that department is in the process of churning MBA professionals with qualitative teaching pedagogy and periodic industry interaction. We believe in imparting the quality education with purpose and train the students with the objective of their 360 degree development. Active Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and student driven clubs like CSR Hub were initiated recently in order to enhance both entrepreneurial and employability skills and make them socially responsible citizens. We also incorporated the necessary infrastructure that facilitates the students to be a part of knowledge acquisition process. We are endeavoring to incorporate academic discipline, contemporary teaching styles.
