NOT A SINGLE TREE FELLED
Eva-Last® is internationally recognised for our commitment to the environment. You can rest assure that no trees were felled to
produce any of our products. Our products do not require toxic chemicals and preservatives normally used for the treatment of
natural timber.
We’re proud of the work we do to promote environmental sustainability, and invite you to choose timber alternatives that curb
deforestation and are gentler on the Earth.
Registered product of the Green Building Council of South Africa
When it comes to going green, we believe that how we manufacture is just as
important as what we manufacture. That is why we’ve traded in fossil fuels for
renewable energy whenever possible.
Pollution free, no greenhouse gases emitted.
RENEWABLE RESOURCES & RENEWABLE ENERGY.
Eva-Last® products pair recycled raw polymer ingredients with bamboo for a stronger, more sustainable composite. In order to help
reduce what goes into our landfills, we make use of recycled plastic to produce our composite products. Instead of using natural
timber fibres, we make use of bamboo. Bamboo rejuvenates over 30 times faster than traditional hardwoods and it releases 35% more
oxygen into our air.
40% RECYCLED HDPE PLASTIC
Our products are now manufactured using solar power. We are fully committed
to bringing you a product that’s holistically eco-conscious.

Why bamboo instead of timber?
SUSTAINABLE - Bamboo is a type of grass that grows and regenerates extremely quickly, with most species reaching adulthood
within 3 – 5 years. This amazing plant is one of the most environmentally friendly resources on the planet and requires no
pesticides or chemical fertilizers to grow. Bamboo keeps our soil stronger, our air cleaner and our environment healthier.
STRONG - Bamboo must be one of the most underrated materials on the planet when it comes to strength. It has a greater tensile
strength (resistance to being pulled apart) than steel, and can withstand compression better than concrete. These properties
make for an ultra strong end product and allow Eva-Last® to offer an industry leading guarantee on our decking.
SAFE - Bamboo is a super clean and safe material, and the perfect additive for composite decking. Bamboo naturally repels
odor and is hypoallergenic when compared to timber. Bamboo as a fibre is actually certified by most food agencies as safe to eat.
You can rest assured that Eva-Last® decking will be the cleanest, safest surface for you and your family.
FSC© - Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that
provide environmental, social and economic benefits. The diverse fauna and flora who share our forests are given the time and
space to recover from our use of their environments.
HOW DO WE CLEAR WASTE PLASTIC THAT IS
KILLING OUR PLANET? Reduce, reuse and recycleEva-Last® promotes eco-conscious practices in all areas of business and life. Be responsible: reduce, reuse, recycle.
Eva-Last® starts with a unique
combination of bamboo fibres and
recycled high density polyethylene
to create the ideal mixture.
Intense heat and pressure are applied
to form a large, continuous block of
composite material.
Each colour is artistically blended
as the composite is moulded into its
final shape.
The dual-surfaced board is then
embossed with two distinct grain
patterns.
In the final stage, the co-extruded
composite is cooled and then cut
to length.

HOW IT’S MADE
A PLASTIC EPIDEMICOur world faces one of its greatest threats from our short-sighted
consumption of single use plastics. Plastic is now the most common
form of marine debris. Plastic enters the oceans from a number of
different land and ocean-based sources and imperils all aspects of
marine life. Once in the water, plastic never fully biodegrades.
In 2019 Eva-Last® produced enough composite products to save the
equivalent of 500 million plastic bottles, recycling two tons of HDPE
results in saving approximately 0.73 tons of carbon dioxide - the
same as travelling 4 000km in a car.
We produce four premium lines of bamboo composite technologies. Each technology offers its own unique
benefits. Apex® is our premium range, with unmatched slip resistance and fire rating properties. Infinity®
is a highly durable, stain resistant range with protective capping. This capping allows for realistic timber-
like embossed surfaces, but without the need for the sanding and sealing required by natural timber. The
Eclipse™ range is made up of two layers of our bamboo composite material. This allows us to add more
colour and UV stabilizers into the outer layer for more vibrant colours. Eva-tech® is our original and
most economical composite with a long-standing track record of high performance. All these ranges are
protected against rotting, splintering or wrapping even in the harshest of weather conditions.
Your Home Made Better.

COMPOSITE JOIST

The composite joist support system offers a simple and cost-
effective substructure solution for use over existing slabs such as
screed or tile flooring, paving and patios. Compared to standard
deck installations, it is quick to install, requiring no posts or any
supporting structure. These joists have the added bonus of being
highly durable, as they are made of foamed plastic composite. The
joist is placed atop a rubber support pad (to allow for drainage)
and then anchored into the existing structure. Eva-Last® composite
decking profiles are subsequently installed atop this. This can be
utilised as either a flooring or cladding application. It is advisable to
use the Titan support pedestals use stop waterproofing membranes
and not the composite joist system.

GALVANISED STEEL
Bearer and joist specifications
The G-struct deck framing system is a galvanised steel substructure solution. G-struct sections are manufactured from industrial grade pre-galvanised
coil, providing a long-term support system. Galvanised steel is available in several coating thicknesses that have a direct impact on the life of a frame
before installation takes place. Maintenance schedules on the initial coating with additional coating combinations such as primer coats, intermediate
coats and finish coats can extend the life of a steel frame by several years.
We recommend using galvanised steel substructure in environmental conditions up to and including C3 corrosion categories.

TIMBER STRUCTURE
It is prudent to utilise a substructure system that matches the lifespan of your deck. When selecting timber be sure to consider the
intended application and the local building codes. Eva-Last® offers several timber solutions based on the requirements of the deck.
Standard H3 level pine is available for the continental highveld climate. H4 to H6 level pine which is available for alternative applications
such as Mediterranean climates and coastal areas. H3 level pine beams and H4 level gum poles are regularly stocked.
