BRITTON FALLS ONLINE SPORTS GROUP’s 2019 FANTASY FOOTBALL CHAMPION The 2019 season marks the 12th time we have crowned a Community Fantasy Football Champion. We had 61 Owners and Co‐Owners (General Managers/Head Coaches) participate this year in our 4‐mirror league format. There were 5 new owners in 2019: Maureen Korros, David Williams, Terry Whitley, Mary Holwick, and Dave Ahearn. Three made the playoffs, and 1 made it to the final game in his respective league. However, this was the year of the wily veteran owners showing they still had some fight left. Eight Charter Owners from the initial 2008 season made it into the playoffs: Vic Carder, Dick Marshall, Carmen Alarcon, Jerry Casey, Linda Weaver, Bob Doane, Mary Carmel Loftus and Will Weaver. In the BFOFL fantasy veteran Joe Gregg was pitted against the 2009 Community Champ Linda Weaver. Joe’s Dazed and Confused team was not so much; they beat Linda’s Touchdowners team 124.92 to 93.66 The BFFFL pitted 2 former Community Champs against each other in the final game: 2010 winner Carmen Alarcon vs 2011 winner Dick Marshall. Carmen’s Ultra Colts stampeded to victory over Dick’s Fishers Fuzz team 114.52 to 108.56 In the BFCFL the team who was winning all season long and ranked #1 in points scored from all leagues going into the playoffs, Ben’s Bruisers owned by Bob Bognar, was up against our community’s 2016 champion, Larry Raasch. Larry’s Indy Hawks team flew high and dropped the Bruisers 136.36 to 92.58. The BFIFL had the only rookie owner making it to a final game, David Williams, up against an original charter owner, Jerry Casey. Jerry’s Hawkeyes picked David’s The Big Meanies team clean by winning 151.26 vs 78.60. While it came down to Monday night’s game, the Hawkeyes flew higher than the Indy Hawks 151.26 to136.36 to be crowned this year’s overall winner. Congratulations go out to Jerry Casey for being the Britton Falls Community Fantasy Football Champion for 2019!
The Britton Falls Online Sports Group is a free group that coordinates our community‐wide fantasy football and NCAA competitions. These two groups are online so all can participate while being anywhere in the world. Participation is restricted to Britton Falls residents and those who work at Britton Falls; the exception is Co‐Owners in fantasy football. We encourage football Owners to include family members or friends to be Co‐Owners, so they have yet another thing to share as an experience, since unlike the NCAA competition, there is a limitation of 56 teams.
