average, 30 hours of TV a week.
• An average of 2.4 rooms with TV sets.
• We’ buy more flat screen TVs than our European neighbours: 43m sets were sold in Britain between 2004 and 2010, compared to 28m in Germany and 27m in France.

• The first advert to be shown in the UK was an advert for S.R. Toothpaste on September 22, 1955 on the ITV network (its first day).
• ITV's £250,000 asking price for a 30-second slot during the 2010 series of Britain's Got Talent is currently the most expensive advertising slot on television.
