As an industry inf luencer...The bfa is the only voluntary self-accrediting body for UK franchising. We aim to promote ethical franchising practice and help the industry develop credibility, influence and favourable circumstance for growth. What is the bfa looking for?The bfa wants to work with ethical business format franchises. Not all companies that apply to join the bfa meet the standards upon first inspection, in fact very few do. The bfa’s team will work hard to support and guide you through submitting a successful application.

The bfa is looking for demonstration of:

A Viable business that can sustain the ongoing growth and development of a franchisee network.

A Franchisable model that has been proven to work successfully.

An Ethical business with a willingness to operate in accordance with the principles of the European Code of Ethics.

A franchise that will fully Disclose, without misrepresentation, the franchise opportunity to prospective franchisees.

Where do I f it?bfa membership categories represent the experience, growth and maturity of your network.

Full Member Your business will have grown to a size where it supports itself solely on the ongoing network fees.

Associate Member You will have at least one franchisee that has traded for at least 12 months.

Provisional List For companies new to franchising that can demonstrate 12 months trading. You may not yet have an operational franchisee but could be running a company pilot.

Professional Affiliate Your business is a provider of specialist professional services that are bespoke to the franchising sector.
