Job Description Job title Senior Investment and Portfolio Manager – Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Investment Fund Team Venture Capital Solutions Band 5 Reporting to Director, Regional Funding Management responsibility None Purpose of the job In this role you will be part of a small team responsible for the Cornwall and isles of Scilly Investment Fund (CIOSIF) operating across the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LEP geography. The role will involve supporting the Bank’s Regional Funding Team in the delivery of CIOSIF across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly working with the Local Enterprise Partnership, European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Committee, Growth Hubs and the CIOSIF Advisory Board in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. The job holder will also be required to be involved in the management of the selected CIOSIF underlying fund managers including reviewing performance against targets and against the Limited Partnership Agreement. The post holder will be required to work from a number of locations across the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly geography to maximise communications with the Fund Manager, partners and establish and maintain the regional presence of the British Business Bank through attending and raising awareness of CIOSIF at a range of meetings and events. The post holder will also provide feedback to the British Business Bank on the range and impact of CIOSIF in the region including reporting back as part of the Fund Manager performance review and attendance at the CIOSIF Advisory Board. The post holder will liaise and work collaboratively on issues and initiatives that cover the whole of the CIOSIF area and work with the four Senior Relationship Managers covering both NPIF and MEIF on issues and initiatives common to all of the Bank’s Regional Funds. The post holder will also be involved in the development of any successor Funds and the utilisation of the Common Prosperity Fund to support future regional access to finance interventions in Cornwall and the isles of Scilly. Main duties Develop effective links with the CIOSIF underlying fund manager and identify challenges and opportunities, review investment and portfolio performance Be the initial point of contact with CIOSIF Fund Managers on Conflicts of Interest, Physical Presence and Key Person requirements Attendance at the appropriate CIOSIF Advisory Board and providing feedback to Members Working with the Central Team on quarterly Fund Manager performance reviews including attendance at meetings in Steel City House IN Sheffield Attendance at the quarterly BBB Fund Manager Portfolio Performance reviews with Legal, Risk and Finance teams Liaising with the LEP to ensure that CIOSIF progress is understood Attendance at the Cornwall ESIF Committee and other LEP European Project Groups Work with the Growth Hub and other forms of business support providers to raise awareness and market CIOSIF Liaising with public and private sector stakeholders to raise awareness of the CIOSIF and other public- sector access to finance interventions An integral part of the Regional Funding Team in identifying market trends and early identification of opportunities and challenges Working collaboratively with the other NPIF / MEIF Senior Relationship Manager on issues and initiatives common to all the regional funds Reporting to the Director Regional Funding on wider access to finance issues in the region including the development of new Pan-regional Funds Knowledge and experience Knowledge and of experience of a range of public or private sector access to finance support including both debt and equity An understanding of small business’ access to finance issues Knowledge of European programmes for regional and or business support Experience of building relationships across a wide range of external partners and stakeholders.
