Entertainment:The big singers in the 1940’s was singer Frank Sinatra who sung pop music and Jazzy songs.
Technology and science:The Atanasoff-Berry computer was considered the first digital electronic computer. Also the invention of commercial TV started.
50’sEntertainment:The big singer Elvis hit the stage he was know has the king of rock n roll. Marilyn Monroe also became a very famous singer and actress that everyone loved. Chuck Berry was very famous at singing.
Technology and Science:
Passenger flights enter service and the soviet union launches Sputnik 1. The famous space programme NASA is established.

•The queen is coroneted in 1953
60’sEntertainment:Boy bands hit the charts like The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, and The Beatles. Jimi Hendrix was also hitting the big time! Also the Sound of music was releases and had every one singing along to the magnificent songs.
Technology and science:The first cmputer video game is invented called Spacewar. Also the Apollo 1 lands on the moon.

•Neil Armstrong is the first person on the moon.
•England won the world cup in 1966!

Key Facts:•Handheld Mobile phones were invented.
•Margaret Thatcher became first female prime minister.
•Elvis Presley dies of a heart attack.
Technology and science:Pocket calculators were invented and Microwave ovens were commercially available. Also we witnessed an explosion in the understanding of solid-state physics.
Entertainment:A new musical came into town GREASE! Everyone was singing along to the brand new musical. Disco music was the thing and Jackson 5 began a new generation of music which everybody loved.
80’s
•Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ wedding video.
Got married in St Pauls cathedral.
750 million people watched the wedding.
90’s
Key Facts:•Nelson Mandela freed in 1990.
•Princess Diana dies at the age of 36.
Entertainment:Spice Girls were the next big thing they were an instant hit with their song ‘If you wanna be my lover’. Also Brittany Spears and Mariah Carey were hitting the charts. James Cameron’s box office film Titanic was made starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo ‘di Caprio.
Technology and Science:The world wide web is invented and email becomes one of the most popular things. NASA’s spacecraft pathfinderlands on Mars.
