CABOOLTURE
Meaning place of the carpet snakes in the local Aboriginal language, Caboolture was fi rst settled by Europeans in 1941 when the area was still part of the colony of New South Wales. The discovery of gold at Gympie in the late 1860s saw the town develop as a stopover for travellers to and from the goldfi elds.
