How the program works

Once accepted into the program, students need a device that meets our network and software requirements in order to participate.

Upon acceptance to the program, parents are required to pay an annual connection fee of $75 at the commencement of each school year. This covers the connection of your device to the network and provide ongoing support for network connectivity.

Overleaf is a table that outlines the minimum requirements.

At the start of the school year, our technicians will give your student’s device functionality to connect with our school system and access a range of facilities such as:

• the intranet• internet access• printing• our school’s digital library• access to curriculum specific software subscriptions• the opportunity to be included in the bulk‐purchase of software with considerable

savings

Technical support

Whilst the maintenance and upkeep of the device remains in the hands of the student, ESHS has technical support on site to troubleshoot any issues that may arise in the day‐to‐day running of the program.

Our technical support endeavours to ensure that each student’s device seamlessly integrates with our network and that each student has consistent access to the above facilities.

Should a student’s device be out of action for more than one school day, then the school will provide alternate access to a hot‐swap device for a limited time period to ensure consistency of learning. Students are fully responsible for these devices whilst in their possession and may be liable to incur any costs associated with damage/loss.

Catering for increased computer use

To cater for an increase in the use of the technology, BYOD students receive: • An increased download limit to accommodate the increased internet usage• Increased limit to network storage• Access to a help‐desk to support the implementation of their device on the network.
