'Self' Photographic Exhibition with prizes - Launch Party, Tuesday 22nd March 2011

As part of the Pro-Independent fundraising activities Brigidine School is supporting a Photographic Competition and Exhibition, organised and hosted by internationally recognised photographer, Alistair Morrison. Alistair has given a short talk to the school assembly and encouraged WHOLE SCHOOL participation, including pupils, teachers, support staff and parents. The Title of the exhibition is 'Self'. We would like all participants to take a self portrait using whatever method is preferred (mobile phones, photo booths, cameras, mirror reflections) and to submit their image direct to the school Art Department (if photo booth pictures, images on disc or on a memory stick), or by email to morrison@alistairmorrison.com for printing. There is an entry fee per submission of £10. You may make as many submissions per individual as you wish. Alistair has kindly donated his facilities to print the images to a standard size (7x5 inches) which will be framed and hung at the exhibition. All entries will be judged by an expert panel with two prizes per year group, another for best staff self portrait and one for best parent self portrait. Prizes will be officially presented to the winners at the launch party. Staff and Parents are not allowed to submit images taken 10 years ago!! The opening launch of the exhibition will be held at the magnificent gallery space at New Lodge, Drift Road, Winkfield, Windsor, SL4 4RR from 6.30pm - 8.30pm on Tuesday 22nd March 2011 at which time you can choose to purchase your framed 'self portraits' at £20 each. A live auction of a select number of exclusive lots will be held during the evening. There will be free refreshments. Please support the children and the School by filling in the slips below giving your child permission to participate and send your 'self portraits' and submission fee as your entry to the 'Self' exhibition and competition. Please ensure that all entries are clearly marked with the name of the individual featured in the photograph and your Year / Form or contact details. All entries must be in by Tuesday 8th March 2011 so please take advantage of the half term break to take your self portraits. Yours sincerely
