    IMPLEMENTATION OF BRIGADA ESKWELA 2013

    Brigada Eskwela is one of the school activities that was implemented by the DepEd for

    the benefit of all students in our school. This aimed to prepare the school facilities in the nextschool year, through the joint effort of teachers, parents and stakeholders who engaged their

    time in fulfilling their roles in the upkeep of the school.

    Scheduled on 20 to 25 May 2013, this year's Brigada, which is on its tenth year, carriesthe theme "Isang Dekada ng Bayanihan sa Paaralan."

    This year, Brigada Eskwela was launched through a caravan participated in by all the

    schools in the Division of Cavite City. Our very own school joined the said caravan the entireSES personnel headed by the principal, Roberto O. Dones, Ed.D. and the schools stakeholders

    led by the PTCA president Mrs. Virgie Bataican. The caravan started in Noveleta and ended in

    each respective schools.

    After the caravan, Brigada Eskwela finally started in Sangley Elementary School.

    Activities to prepare the school for the new school year kicked off. The weeklong activities

    included cleaning the school ground, buildings and the classrooms and trimming of the trees.

    Repair and repainting of buildings were also conducted through the effort of the parentparticipants and other stakeholders such as the different military units.

    With the unselfish cooperation and invaluable support from the SES personnel and

    stakeholders, the Brigada Eskwela in Sangley Elementary School was indeed a very successful

    one.

    I. PREIMPLEMENTATIONSTAGEThe Department of Education conducted this years Brigada Eskwela , also

    known as the National Schools Maintenance Week on May 20 - 25, 2013 where all

    education stakeholders contributed their time, effort and resources in ensuring that the school

    facilities are ready in time for the school opening.

    The success of this week-long event depends largely on careful planning and

    preparations before the actual event on May.

    To ensure participation of the parents and the community, various meetings with the

    Parent-Teacher Community Association (PTCA) especially the officers were held. From these

    meetings, Brigada Eskwela Committees were organized:

    1. Brigada Eskwela Steering Committee -

    This committee spearheads the Brigada Eskwela Program

    Overall Chairman: Mr. Roberto O. Dones, Ed.D.

    Co-Chair: Mrs. Maricar F.Estilles

    Members: Mr. Nehro F. Dela Cruz

    Mr. Louie G. Vergara

    Mrs. Nila V. Briones

    Miss Melinda T. Rafae

    2. Brigada Eswela Working Committee -

    This committee is composed of different groups namely:

    a. Advocacy and Marketing Committee - this assignment was given to

    the Grades I and II teachers. Their function is to promote public

    awareness and encourages involvement in the program

    b. Resource Mobilization Committee - was composed of the Special

    Teachers headed by Mr. Louie G. Vergara. Their main priority is to

    generate both material and manpower resources.
