Mission Statement
The Junior League of Youngstown is an organization
of women committed to promoting volunteerism,
developing the potential of women and improving
communities through the effective action and lead-
ership of training volunteers. Its purpose is exclusive-
ly educational and charitable.
Briefly Speaking is published ten times per year for
members of JLY. The deadline for each edition is
the third Tuesday of the month.
Information should be submitted via email, as a Mi-
crosoft Word document, to Anna Masi at an-
www.jlyoungstown.org
Well here we are– back at September again! It seems like we just wrapped up
at Annual Dinner. Our League members have been hard at work all summer
and I know that we’re off to a great start.
A Sustainer Reunion was held at The Lake Club with a great turnout and lots of
catching up. The 20th Annual Pink Ribbon Tea was celebrated a little earlier this
year (August 25th) but was pulled together in record time and the change in lo-
cation allowed for about 50 more participants.
We’re looking forward to our first GMM where members will have a chance to
reconnect with one another and get a refresher course on all that is Junior
League.
CODE Day scheduled for September 27th, will provide us with the unique oppor-
tunity to host the 7 other Ohio Leagues. We want a strong turnout for this event
and need your help to show everyone the great things that are happening here
in Youngstown.
We have a new Fall Fundraiser event that we’re hoping will attract a lot of new
guests. It is a Quarter Auction being held on October 11th. This tailgate-themed
event is sure to be a fun & relaxing night so make sure you bring your friends and
family.
So as we start this new year, I’d like to present you with a challenge. Please try
at least one new aspect of the League this year that you haven’t in the past. I
hope it will inspire you and reaffirm your love for the League!
Respectfully,
Kelly
