Context
Textile design has a fundamental connection with the body. This can be the decoration of the fabrics that make up our garments, the fabric we sleep in or the fabric we perform in.

Sometimes the use of fabric is functional therefore less decorative but more concerned with comfort, protection or performance.

More recently there have been advances in medical textiles so that the textile can become part of our body and some garments can be used to monitor our health.
