1. WWII ended 2. A bear and an eagle are on two cliff edges facing each other menacingly, with a

storm brewing in the sky. Two pieces of paper are floating down into a deep canyon.

3. The US is represented by the eagle with the stars on his back, the bear represents the USSR with the scythe and hammer.

4. Because they are on two opposite cliffs and there is obvious tension between them, but with so much at stake it is necessary to bridge the gap between them.
