Photography Shots

Pre-Ceremony Shoot with Groom

These shots can be taken at the groom’s suite shot an hour or

so before the ceremony. Guests will start to arrive 30 - 45

minutes before the ceremony begins. This is sometimes a

good time to get a number of the family photos out of the way

so that they don't cut into your photo shoot timing after the

ceremony.

Close ups and Full Length - Alone

With your father

With both your parents

With other family members

With the best man

With the groomsmen

With ring bearer

Checking your tie and/or finishing up

Getting ready candid’s

Groom's Details, i.e. boutonniere, tuxes hanging, bottle of cologne, card/gift from bride, etc.

Pre-Ceremony Shoot with Bride

These shots can be taken at her bridal suite while she's getting ready. Again, this is a good time to take some of the family photos to save time later.

With flower girl

Adjusting garter

Bride's Details, i.e. the dress, the shows, the bouquets, makeup, jewelry, card/gift from the groom, etc.

Ceremony The majority of ceremony shots are standard and most photographers know what to take. The things that you might want to add to this list would be anything that may be cultural in nature and/or an event that you've added to part of the ceremony that is not part of the standard ceremony fare.

Formal Photo Shoot This usually takes place after the ceremony, but if you are getting married in the autumn months and/or you have a very limited time between your ceremony and reception, it might be beneficial to do this before the ceremony. You can consult with your photographer on where an appropriate place may be. Be sure to inform all individuals that are required for your photos.

Reception Photos this list covers all of the standard happenings at a reception. If you have any scheduled special activities, be sure to be specific and let your photographer know. It is also very beneficial to provide your videographer with this list. Extended group shots, other than immediate family should probably be scheduled during the reception time.

Talking with guests at reception - receiving line

Any decorations that you have spent a lot of time and energy putting together.

That basically covers all of the aspects of your day in a very specific manner. Again, you may have a talented and photojournalistic photographer; a list like this could be very restrictive for them.

Family Photos

The following covers all of the standard combinations that you want to make sure you capture for your family photos. We have included some of these into some of the above areas, especially if we felt it would be beneficial to do these shots at times when it would be the easiest in your schedule, but the following is so that you make sure you don't forget anything.

Bride with Mother

Bride with Father

Bride with Mother & Father

Bride with Siblings (you may want to do individually or as a group

Bride, Groom and Bride's Siblings

Bride, Groom and Groom's Siblings

Bride, Groom and all Siblings

Bride, Groom and Brides entire family

Bride, Groom and Grooms entire family

Bride, Groom and both families combined

The last part of your list may be to include any friends and extended relatives that you want photos with. Be specific with your groups. The photographer needs to know, for timing purposes, exactly what the sizes of the groups will be to coordinate it quickly and efficiently.

Quick Tips:

Make sure to plan to have a lot of fun at your rehearsal dinner. This is a good time for

your families to mingle and socialize with each other. The dinner does not have to be

formal and can take place at your local area dining restaurant of choice. You can also

take your family and friends to a place to hang out. It doesn’t have to be a certain way.

You choose your style! Just be sure to have lots of fun!

Wedding Do’s and Don’ts

DO…….

Think seriously about hiring a makeup artist; everyday makeup is different from your wedding day needs.

Take time to try a few different makeup artists and choose one who understands your personal tastes.

Use eye drops if your eyes look red or tired on the day of (but stick with a brand you've used before to avoid

unwelcome surprises).

Get as much sleep as possible the night before the big day.

Apply concealer to banish dark circles under your eyes.

Use matte eye shadows (they won't reflect light or look too shiny).

Use an off-white matte shadow along your brow bone if you have light skin, or peach if you have dark skin, to

illuminate your eyes even more.

Blend well, especially at the corners of your eyes, since cameras pick up visible makeup lines.

Define your brows with a pencil or powder that matches your hair color.

Wear at least two layers of mascara.

Use an eyelash curler before and after applying your first coat of mascara.

Prevent makeup meltdowns by using a smudge-proof or waterproof mascara. (If you really don't like its look or

feel, use one coat of regular mascara overlaid with a light coat of waterproof mascara.)

Buy a new mascara for your wedding day, but test it a few days before the wedding if it's a new brand.

DON'T……

Wear too much eye makeup: You'll look like a drag queen.

Change your eye color with colored lenses (unless you always wear them).

Try to be too trendy (that glitzy silver shadow may look silly ten years from now).

Use an under-eye concealer that's too light for your skin tone (you'll look like a deer caught in headlights).

Experiment with eye products you haven't tried before.

Wear dark shadows like charcoal or dark brown (you'll look like you've been punched).

Wear frosted, shiny, sparkly shadow (It creases easily and will reflect camera flashes).

Forget about your eyebrows.

Tweeze your brows at the last minute on your wedding morning.

Wax on the day of your wedding.

Wear false eyelashes if they're not 100% comfortable and you're not 200% confident they won't fall off.
