Multi-single and Multi-two Operating

Definitions

Multi-single:• One run radio & one multiplier radio• Multiple operators• OK to use packet

Multi-two:• Two run radios (no multiplier radio)• Multiple Operators• OK to use packet

• Less operators than multi/multi

• Less equipment – easy to convert a single-op station

• Excellent training ground for new contesters

• Opportunity to always have a fresh operator on

CQ Contests

• One run station with 10 minute QSY rule• Multiplier station OK on one other band• Packet spotting permitted• Logs violating the above reclassified as multi/multi

ARRL HF Contests

• One run station limited to 6 band changes per hour• No multiplier station allowed• Packet spotting permitted• Logs violating the above reclassified as multi/multi

• Two run stations, no multiplier station allowed• Maximum of 8 band changes per hour• Packet spotting permitted• Log must indicate which transmitter made the QSO• Logs violating the above reclassified as multi/multi

Operating Strategy – Multi/single

• Very similar to single op assisted but with addition of multiplier radio

• Run on the highest open band

• Don’t miss any multipliers on your two bands!

• Take advantage of fresh operators
