Challenge Pacific had to construct and fit out to an extremely tight deadline a brand new super-trendy bar/diner for hipster beer company BrewDog at Edinburgh International Airport. The pressure was intense, as Pacific were aware that this to be was the first ever outlet opened by the company at a UK airport. The finished article had to have attitude and style in spades – as per BrewDog’s headline-attracting image – and it had to strike a strong presence in order to attract customers from its location in the centre of the airside concourse in the eastern extension Approach The deadline was tight, and operations had to be sympathetic to the operation of Scotland’s busiest airport, with frequent fluctuations in the movement of people across the airside area. Liaison with partner agencies was key as Pacific drew on their vast experience of delivering to deadline and to budget in busy public areas and at international airports – and for high-profile clients. The project was commenced in October, 2018, and handed over to the clients at the end of November, 2018. Results The BrewDog is an eye-catching addition to the new airside extension area at the east end of the terminal. It boasts a concrete bar top, vivid lighting suspended from metal rafts, hardwood flooring, bolted-down seating, striking signage and a shipping container that has been re-purposed as a kitchen. On the day it opened, it proved hugely popular and queues of inquisitive customers desperate to savour what BrewDog had to offer formed outside. www.pacificbuilding.co.uk BrewDog Edinburgh Airport Client: The Restaurant Group Location: Edinburgh International Airport Value: £400,000 Timescale: Seven weeks Case Study
