OPENING MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

This is a very exciting year for dance. First of all, as part of the Cultural Olympiad and in the run-up to the Olympic celebrations the Big Dance biennial festival will feature nine days of dance throughout the UK between 7 and 15 July, demonstrating the immense power of dance to move and engage people from all walks of life. Brent Council recognises how dance can bring people together to exchange ideas and has supported the local dance community for a number of years. With a summer of momentous celebration ahead of us we are launching BRENT DANCE MONTH 2012, an exhilarating explosion of dance through-out July. Our programme sees an electrifying range of dance styles, from Nigerian tango and Korean contemporary to Garba aerobics and Bellydancing with Baby, representing our diverse community. Whether you’re looking for a high-quality dance perfor-mance or a class we have it all.
