We will practice and play on Saturday afternoons, and all games and practices will be held in the Bre-men Middle or High School gyms. The tenta-tive dates for the league will be on 5 consec-
utive Saturdays, beginning January 12th, 2019 and running through February 9, 2019. This will be for grades 3-6, and each session will last 90 minutes. We will practice for approximately 45 minutes each week, immediately followed by a game. We will have additional details available later in the school year in-cluding cost and sign up information.
PUBLIC LIBRARY CHALLENGE
Bremen Public Library’s Flash Fic-tion Challenge is now accepting entries! We invite students in grades 6-12 to participate by fin-ishing this writing prompt: "Nothing is so painful to the hu-man mind as a great and sudden change." Entries must be be-tween 500 and 1,000 words. Sub-mit entries via e-mail to Chris Scandling at [email protected] or deliv-er a printed copy to the library by Friday, Oct. 19. Ten winners will be chosen and notified on Wednesday, Oct. 22. Each winner will receive a Frankenstein T-shirt and a $15 gift card for Barnes & Noble. In addition, the top 10 stories will be featured on Bremen Public Library's YA Blog, "A Series of Fortunate Events," Oct. 26-31.
14U BASEBALL TRYOUTS The Bremen 14U team will hold tryouts Saturday, October 13th and Sunday, October 14th from 3pm-5pm at the Pony League field (adjacent to the batting cages near the little league fields). To be eligible, players cannot be 15 before 5/1/19. We would like the players to attend BOTH days if at all possible. We anticipate a season of 15-20 games to start in Mid-April and end in Mid-July. We hope to keep 11 or 12 players on the team. The tryout will consist of basic hitting, fielding and throwing drills as well as some pitching evaluations. If you have any ques-tions, please don’t hesitate to email or text Joe Stiles. [email protected] or 209-8013.
