This week our Pre Prep children had a wonderful trip to Bromley library to share many books and listen to some stories. Our Year 6 children enjoyed an African Drumming workshop and the Infants had their Musical workshops which were enjoyed by all. Children had the opportunity to create different styles of music and movement. We are looking forward to welcoming back our Year 5 children from Osmington Bay and from what I have seen on Twitter, they all appear to have had a fantastic time. I have had a great deal of positive comments from mums and dads telling me it felt as if they were there with the children. A big thank you to our Breaside team of teachers this year - Miss Golds, Mr Jackson, Mr Duke, Mrs Clarke and Miss Clarke for all their hard work. I have seen a few pictures of them having a go at many, if not all of the activities on offer. This is such an opportunity for our children, and will often take them out of their comfort zones to try something very different and to become much more independent. I know that you will all see a change in them when they arrive back and a lot of dirty washing! The coach is due to arrive back at school at 7pm. Parents please continue to keep an eye on Twitter in case this time changes. I would like to share with you all an amazing achievement from one of our Breaside pupils, Chloe Trimming from Year 6 was presented with a framed certificate in assembly this morning by Mr Baker who is an engineer at The University of Greenwich and has been running a club for us here at Breaside. Chloe is one of the winners in the 'Design a Robot' for Robot Wars. Chloe's design will be in the Robot Wars competition in September. Very well done Chloe, we are all very proud of you and cannot wait to see the finished product taking part! It has been brought to my attention this week that some children are being left outside of school from 7:50am without an accompanying adult. Please can I remind parents we are here to keep your children safe. When they are standing on the school site without an adult, this is a Safeguarding concern for us as a school. Our Early Morning Club is open from 7:30am and you are welcome to drop your children off here where they will be safe. We are on a very busy road and for a young child to be standing alone is extremely dangerous. I would ask for your full support to help us keep your children safe and if you do need to drop off early, then please use the Early Morning Club or speak to the office. Next week, the school office will be open for shorter hours than normal (9.00am – 3.00pm) on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but will be closed for the Bank Holiday Monday. I would like to wish you all a happy and restful break during the half term holiday and let’s all hope that this beautiful weather continues for at least another week! I very much look forward to seeing you all again on Monday 4th June.
