Breadth Assignment: 2 Characters in Clay AP Studio Art 3D  For this project you will create 2 distinct characters out of clay. Your sculptures will depict the bust of 2 related characters. The relationship should be clear to the viewer (either in structure or color or theme).  You will use a combination of techniques to build your characters‐‐pinch, coil, slab, reductive and additive techniques.  Once your characters are built and bisque fired, you may use Cone 6 or underglazes to glaze specific parts.  I recommend that you use iron oxide as a stain for the face to show detail.   Bust:a sculpted or cast representation of the upper part of the human figure, depicting a person's head and neck, as well as a 

variable portion of the chest and shoulders.
