ABOUT THE PROJECT

BRE aims at creating a transnational tool to connect business registries from Italy, Albania and Montenegro, so that ex-isting enterprises, start-ups, networks and clusters can be mapped and registered. By developing the BRE Platform and setting tailored training and dissemination actions, the project will provide long-term instruments addressed to compa-nies, in order to increase SMEs collaboration and competitiveness. This will enhance the cross border business environ-ment, by facilitating information access, providing transparency and accuracy of data, reducing costs and strengthening efficiencies for SMEs.

STEERinG COMMiTTEE MEETinG

The 2nd Steering Committee meeting of BRE Project, took place in Pod-gorica, Montenegro, at the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro 10 and 11 April 2019. The SC was moderated by Ms. Aris Tasho, the director of Department for International affairs, Tirana Chamber of Commerce and project manager of BRE project. During the first day of the meeting, the representatives of all partners discussed planned and finalized project ac-tivities in general, while the second day was the official opening of the 2nd Steering Committee meeting by Mr. Pavle D. Radovanović, Secretary General of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro. In his speech, Mr. Radovanović stressed the importance of cross-border cooperation, as well as the possibility to cooperate with Italian partners with huge experience in the field of European projects through INTERREG Italy-Albania-Montene-gro Programme. Furthermore, this meeting was the occasion for all part-ners to present their finalized and ongoing activities related to this project. Partners from three countries explained the situation regarding national business registers making comparison from legal point of view with the Italian one and elaborating the models in which the legal obstacles can be overcome in order to develop a high quality business register incorporat-ing the crucial elements of European Statistical Classification of Economic Activities (NACE). In their concluding remarks during the meeting that took place in Podgorica, all partners have committed to further promote this project on all platforms and agreed that the BRE platform, once finished, will include 100 companies from all three countries (agriculture, tourism, fashion industry and ICT).

AnnUAL COnFEREnCE OF iTALiAn SECRETARiES GEnERAL

Chambers of Commerce of Tirana and Montenegro and other BRE Partners attended the annual conference of Italian Secretaries General held in Bari, 20-22 May 2019. Three days of full immersion in the Italian Companies Register: increasing networking and strengthening the Albanian and Mon-tenegrin system through the Italian best practice.

SHADOW DAYS in BARi

“Shadow days” were held in Bari, Italy on 3 June 2019. Many Chamber employees of various levels (from Director to Section Managers of the Business Register, from experts in law to IT technicians) worked side by side, exchanging infor-mation and sharing knowledge to improve their competences in full BRE view.

ROUnD TABLE WiTH SMES in ALBAniA

Within the framework of the BRE project, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tirana, lead partner on the project, organized a round table with the representatives of Albanian SMEs on 27 June 2019 in Tirana.

STEERinG COMMiTTEE AnD MiD TERM REViEW MEETinG

Steering Committee meeting was held on 11 September 2019 in Tirana, Albania, and was the opportunity of all partners to discuss the ongoing and future project activities. The Chamber of Commerce and Industy of Tirana also organized a meeting with the representatives of the company working on BRE platform, where the partners were introduced with its basic functionalities and administrator appearance. Mid-term review meeting with the Joint Secretariat from Puglia was held on 12 September 2019. The focus of the meeting was the current status of the project and planned future activities which will result a successful creation a transnational tool to connect business registries from three countries.

BRE PROJECT MEETinG DURinG SHADOW DAYS in MOnTEnEGRO

The annual Economics Conference Montenegro 2019 also hosted “Shad-ow Days” with partners on the BRE Project – “Business Registry Empow-erment”. The Shadow Days event aimed at bringing together all the part-ners in the project and was also an opportunity for colleagues from Italy and Albania to participate in one of the largest economics conferences in the region. The project partners’ meeting, held on 23 October, addressed current and upcoming project activities, with a focus on the example of a legal framework concerning business register in Italy. The legal framework for the business Rregister in Montenegro is one of the next important ac-tivities on the project, and this activity is led by Tehnopolis from Niksic. All partners participated in this meeting, namely the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, Chamber of Commerce of Bari, Tehnopolis from Niksic, the Ministry of Finance of Albania and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tirana, which is the lead partner in the project.

The Chamber of Economy of Montenegro organized a round table with representatives of small and medium enterprises in Podgorica on 3 De-cember. On this occasion, the representatives of SMEs in Montenegro dis-cussed the necessary existence of a comprehensive business register in or-der to promote internationalization, cooperation and partnering between companies in cross-border area within different projects, especially those related to innovation. The objective of this activity was to decrease the gap between the three countries participating in the project in terms of orga-nization, technology and legislation, as well as to ensure a participatory approach of the SMEs in this project.
