Day 18. Rio de Janeiro. This morning, enjoy your selected

sightseeing activity. You may wish to embark on a tour through the local favelas, which offers some of the most colours and culture of Rio. Alternatively enjoy a boat trip on the bay; or perhaps join a tour of the city’s fascinating historical sights, where the legends woven through the narrow streets are brought to life on an enthralling discovery. Day 19. Rio de Janeiro. Today you will travel to Corcovado mountain to see the iconic, Christ the Redeemer statue. As you visit one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, look out to simply stunning views across the city. Later as the sun sets, set off on a cable car to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain for panoramic views of this spectacular city. Afterwards, you will head to a local restaurant for Brazil’s famously delicious barbecue. BD

Day 1. Arrive Buenos Aires (Argentina). On arrival in the Argentinian capital today, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel located in the heart of Recoleta. After settling in, enjoy some time at leisure. One Night Stay: Buenos Aires, Park Hyatt Hotel

Day 2. Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, Embark Antarctica Cruise. Transfer to the airport and board your included flight to Ushuaia before boarding your luxury expedition ship, Le Lyrial. Be greeted by your Expedition Leader and a team of expert naturalist guides. Take some time to settle in before enjoying the Captain’s Welcome Dinner. Afterwards, head to the deck to take in the stunning scenery of the Beagle Channel. Day 3. Drake Passage. Sail across the Drake Passage, where the Atlantic and Pacific oceans meet between Cape Horn and the South Shetland Islands. During this time, learn more about the adventures ahead as you participate in a range of informative, interactive

and entertaining presentations on the wildlife, history and geology of Antarctica. These sessions will be delivered by your knowledgeable Expedition Team. BLD

Day 4-9. Antarctic Peninsula. Experience some of the most unique wildlife viewing in the world as you’re taken to visit penguin rookeries and seal colonies. These chilly waters are often frequented by hunting orca and the breaching forms of humpback and minke whales, so be sure to keep an eye out. Although landing sites will vary depending on conditions, the route will feature the most scenic bays and channels, including the stunning Lemeire Channel and Neko Bay. Head to the shores of Deception Island, an active volcano surrounded by distinctive black sand. Once an old whaling station, you will see giant barrels and bleached whale bones here as well as impressive elephant seals lounging along the shore. You may even get the chance to stop at Port Lockroy, a scientific base currently studying gentoo penguins. Here, you can send a postcard with a rare Antarctic stamp. 10 Night Cruise: Le Lyrial. BLD

Day 10. Antarctic Peninsula. Bid farewell to Antarctica and return across the Drake Passage. BLD

Day 12. Ushuaia, Buenos Aires. Today you will disembark your ship

and travel to Tierra Fuego and take a tour to admire its mountainous landscapes, lagoons, and rivers. You will then head to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Three Night Stay: Buenos Aires, Park Hyatt. B

Day 13. Buenos Aires. Enjoy a tour of Buenos Aires before

visiting the city’s oldest barrio. Explore La Boca’s colourful houses and picturesque pedestrian street, Caminito; drive along one of the widest avenues in the world, Avenida 9 de Julio; pass the parks, gardens and tree-lined streets of Palermo; and visit La Recoleta Cemetery. Later, enjoy a tango lesson, delicious dinner and exciting tango show. BD

Day 14. Buenos Aires. After breakfast, embark on your chosen

activity. Perhaps head to the island town of Tigre and enjoy a cruise over the waterways of the Paraná Delta. Alternatively, explore the extraordinary history of the city’s vibrant street art culture, or take a behind the scenes soccer tour that celebrates ‘fútbol’, the national sport of Argentina. Perhaps you would prefer to learn more about the game of polo and attend a live polo match. B

Day 15. Buenos Aires, Iguazú Falls. (15 day passengers depart Buenos Aires today at the conclusion of their tour.)

Depart your hotel and fly to the Argentinian side of Iguazú Falls. Upon arrival, you will ride the Rainforest Ecological Train through the forest to a series of walkways and viewing points. Perhaps the most spectacular lookout takes you right up to the thunderous Devil’s Throat. After some time here, continue to the Brazilian side of the falls to the Hotel das Cataratas – and stay within Brazil’s Iguazú National Park. Over two nights, enjoy its unrivalled location. Day 16. Iguazú Falls. Today you’ll get up close to the roaring

cascades on a Jet Boat Ride Safari. Then in the afternoon, spend some time enjoying the panoramic view of the falls with a leisurely walk between each of the viewing platforms. Spanning an area 2.7 kilometres wide, Iguazú Falls is made up of roughly 275 incredible waterfalls to explore. B
