RESOLUTION APPROVING BUDGET

AND CERTIFYING TAX LEVY

Public Hearing of the Board of Trustees of the Brandon Township Public Library, County of

Oakland, State of Michigan held virtually via the platform Zoom on the 24th day of August, 2020 at 6:45

P.M., Eastern Daylight Time.

PRESENT: Trustees:

ABSENT: Trustees: The following preamble and resolution were offered by Trustee and supported by Trustee

WHEREAS in accordance with the Truth in Budgeting Act, there has been presented to the

Board of Trustees of the Brandon Township Public Library (the “Library”) the proposed budget for

fiscal year 2021; and

WHEREAS, a public hearing on the budget has been held in accordance with the provisions

of Act 43 of 1963, as amended, after notice of the hearing was duly given; and

WHEREAS, the notice of hearing on the budget included the following statement printed in

11- point bold faced type:

The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget was the subject of this hearing.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:

1. The Library Board hereby approves and adopts the proposed budget for fiscal year 2021 on file

with the Secretary of the Board for the purpose of providing library service to the residents of the

Township.

2. The Library Board hereby ratifies and confirms the actions of the Library Director in completing

the Notice of Hearing and in arranging for publication thereof in Ortonville, Michigan. The Notice

of Hearing in the form published in The Citizen is hereby ratified and confirmed.

3. The Library Board hereby approves and adopts the proposed tax levy for fiscal year 2021 on file

with the Secretary of the Board and hereby determines that 1.9207 mill(s) shall be levied in the

Brandon Township Public Library district for fiscal year 2021 for the purpose of providing library

funds for the operation of the Library.

4. The Secretary of the Library Board is authorized and directed to submit this resolution and a Tax

Rate Request form (L-4029) to the clerk of Brandon Charter Township, the County of Oakland,

and to the County Equalization Department of the County of Oakland.

5. All resolutions and parts of resolutions insofar as they conflict with the provisions of this

resolution are and the same hereby are rescinded.
