Welcome to Branded Arts Review Best of 2014.
2014 was really a breakthrough year for branded arts.
With 2013 ending on a high, literally, as Red Bull pulled off the most ambitious and impressive
branded entertainment proje# arguably ever with Red Bull Stratos. 2014 kicked into gear with
brands jostling to show what they could do.
From branded films to exhibitions, installations, pop-up stores, online series, branded
pla$orms, events, installations, experiences, it was all out there in the name of branded arts
and was treated like a legitimate part of the marketing mix.
In recognition of the advertising industry’s appetite for branded arts and entertainment, it
dominated the conversations and awards at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity,
with stand out proje#s like Intel & Toshiba’s ‘The Beauty Inside’ – which we featured in our
2013 review - securing a swag of Grands Prix alongside Melbourne Metro’s ‘Dumb Ways To Die’.
But it wasn’t just the ad industry taking note, ‘The Beauty Inside’ also went on to win an Emmy,
grabbing the a%ention of the entertainment industry and alerting the arts world to the
lucrative opportunities emerging in the marketing world.
In 2014 we saw brands partner and collaborate with Hollywood’s finest both through
produ#ion studios and a#ors, record labels and music artists, leaders in archite#ure, design
and technology, fashion designers, artists, and the fans.
While 2013’s branded arts proje#s were led by the usual su&e#s such as Nike, Coca-Cola and
Red Bull, 2014 gave rise to a wide range of brands from a variety of se#ors.
Branded Arts Review identified three key se#ors, which embraced branded arts,
