SUSTAINABILITY

At Lincourt Vineyards & Winery we strive to be as sustainable as we possibly can in both the vineyard and in our winemaking practices.

Here are some examples of how we try to reduce our carbon footprint on the environment:

In the Vineyards- Use the least amount of pesticides possible- Use Beneficial Insects- helps keep the harmful insect population in

the vineyards to a minimum- Do Routine Maintenance – keep equipment clean and ensures the

proper amount of fungicide is being utilized- Utilize a water regiment to ensure we do not over or under water

including soil moister sensor and pressure bombs

In the Winery- Compost pumice during harvest- Our wines are made with native yeast and Malolactic bacteria- Recycle all bottles and cardboard

THE CUBE PROJECT

Three Winemakers, Three Vineyards, Nine Wines

An Experiment in Terroir with Anne Amie (Oregon) Bouchaine (Carneros) and Lincourt (Sta Rita Hills)

1. Each winery will decide which block of theirs to pick. The block will have to be at least 6-tons in size. Each 6-ton lot will be divided into thirds, with each of the three winemakers fermenting 2 tons of fruit.

2. Each winemaker will be responsible for the picking decisions at their own winery; therefore each of the 3 wines made at that particular lot will start with the same footing.

3. Each winery will produce 120 cases of each vineyard

4. This experiment is about community, terroir and creative expression for the winemaker. It is a unique opportunity to see their home vineyard through someone else’s eyes.

ACCOLADES

Courtney’s Chardonnay

89 Points – Wine Enthusiast2010 Courtney’s Chardonnay “Great acidity on this wine, with a squirt of lime juice giving it needed zest. The

wine itself is simple, lush and fruity, with peach and pineapple flavors.” – June 2013

90 Points – Wine Enthusiast2009 Courtney’s Chardonnay“A fine Chardonnay, creamy, flavorful and complex. It’s as soft as buttercream, yet a

vital streak of acidity brightens the tropical fruit and vanilla richness. Showcases the Santa Rita Hills in a good, cool vintage. “ – Steve Heimoff, March 2012

91 Points – Jamessuckling.com2009 Courtney’s Chardonnay“This is intensely fruity with a cream and lightly milky note. Full and fruity with

some bright acidity and a fruity finish. Drink now.” - December 2011

89 Points – Wine & Spirits 2010 Courtney’s Chardonnay Text Available August 2013

ACCOLADES CONT.

Lindsay’s Pinot Noir

90 Points – Connoisseur’s Guide 2010 Lindsay’s Pinot Noir Here is a direct, deeply fruited look at Pinot Noir that keeps oak and

ripeness under careful control, but it is also a wine of real richness and polish that speaks with a quiet but very confident varietal voice. It is medium-full-bodied and shows a bit of the velvety texture that only good Pinot can, and it achieves a fine balance of refinement and richness that makes it age-worthy and yet wholly charming right now. – June 2013

92 Points – Jamessuckling.com2009 Lindsay’s Pinot Noir“Beautiful blackberry and lightly toasted oak on the nose and palate. Turns

to spices and meat. Full-bodied, with soft tannins and a long finish. Balanced and pretty. Drink now or hold.” - December 2011

5 Stars – Restaurant Wine 2009 Lindsay’s Pinot Noir Exceptional: fleshy in texture and complex in character (cherry, kola nut,

blueberry, toast, and spicy oak); a well balanced wine with a very long finish. Great value.

ACCOLADES CONT.

2011 Steel Chardonnay

92 Points & Best Buy – Wine & Spirits “This is cool, intense, acid-driven chardonnay. Unimpeded by oak or malolactic fermentation, the fruit has the tangy cut of a pineapple on the edge of ripeness, while still holding plenty of concentration thanks to the notably long hang time of 2011. The saline minerality of Lincourt’s two wind-battered Santa Rita Hills vineyards is on full display, and it’s also a steal – an honest, terroir-driven wine for under $20. Buy a case and drink it over the next several years with seafood.” – December 2012

90 Points – The Tasting Panel Magazine “Juicy, fresh and tangy with nectarine and racy acidity; bright, lively and zesty with balance, modern

style and a long finish.” –October 2013

5 Stars – Restaurant Wine “Steel emphasizes fresh, vibrant Chardonnay character. It is youthful, crisp, and ripely flavored, with a

very long finish. In aroma/flavor, it tastes of pineapple, lemon peel, peach, and lime.” – December 2012

ACCOLADES CONT.

88 Points, Editors’ Choice – Wine Enthusiast

2010 Sauvignon Blanc“Acidity marks this wine, giving the

grapefruit, lemon and vanilla bean flavors a mouthwatering tingliness. It’s formally dry, yet the richness of fruit gives it a honeyed finish. Good job.” – Steve Heimoff, March 2012

90 Points – Jamessuckling.com

2010 Unoaked Chardonnay“Minerally wine with white pepper

and fennel character. Medium body, with fresh acidity and a bright, clean finish. No oak. Drink now.” - December 2011
