SPRING INSTA INSPIRATION

We invited an intimate group of Elite milk_shake® stylists to join us at the stunning venue, Lost & Found in Birmingham for a day packed with creative energy, inspiration, feedback and an insight into the exciting events and products we’ve got in store for 2020.

The Strand in Derby has a special connection with milk_shake®, both businesses share a birth year and have partnered up since the very beginning! Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting up with salon owner Rachael Grace-

Leyland, who is now the owner of 2 salons and still as passionate and loyal as ever to her favourite hair care brand!

There was lots of milk_shake® LOVE being shared throughout the day, as well as creative inspiration from milk_shake® Ambassador Shelley Lane who showcased her iconic Avant Garde head pieces. milk_shake® Camera man, Dan Lord, shared his tips and tricks on perfecting social media images and how to maximise your photography skills after General Manager Xavier Berrell thanked all our guests for their loyalty and commitment to the brand. Over cocktails and a delicious lunch, there was such a friendly and comfortable vibe as everybody shared their own milk_shake® experiences making us proud to have such an incredible milk_shake® family.

More intimate milk_shake® meet-ups are scheduled for later in the year, so keep an eye on our social media channels for further information.

When did you begin working with milk_shake®? I first started working with milk_shake® in 2009 the year I opened my first salon.

How were you introduced to milk_shake®? My distributor had dropped off a Whipped Cream for us to use and then booked me in to do a demonstration on milk_shake® treatments (they were fabulous even in the early days). We were so amazed by the results we went on to take on the whole range (including the colour) within days.

How has milk_shake® changed and developed over the past decade?We have been with milk_shake® over 10 years now and even though the brand has developed many more amazing products and colours which we love, I feel the core concept of the brand remains the same! The focus has always been, and still is, the health and integrity of our clients’ hair! I love that the UK Directors have always promoted professional use of their products which is quite unique in hairdressing these days.

What is your advice to other Salon Owners considering milk_shake®? My advice for salons thinking of taking on milk_shake® colour would be to book an education demonstration so that you will be able to see the results for yourself. I’ve never looked back or been tempted by any other colour house.

Favourite milk_shake® product introduced in 2019?One of our salons favourites are the new Colour Whipped Creams, they are so much fun for all levels of stylists to use as they are so easy and quick to apply and the results are beautiful. There’s nothing better than a client coming in for what they think is a trim and then leaving with a completely new shade which makes them feel amazing without any major commitment of a new colour.

First love? My “first love”? Me being the loyal person that I am, I will always say original Whipped Cream is my number 1 milk_shake® product! It is used on nearly every client to help detangle, protect and condition and obviously it smells like heaven.
