    a campuszine not that far away, an astounding

    number of Malaysian college and university

    students participated in a notable online survey

    on brands. Thats right; its none other than Campus Plus Brand Choice

    Survey, a poll that casts an enlightening insight into whats hot and whats

    not in the world of brands, products and services. As decided by you.

    Why do brands matter? Well, because an excellent product or service

    is nothing without a strong and instantly identifiable brand. A brand is the

    identity of the said product or service, the embodiment of what its all about

    and what it stands for. Its what consumers see and identify with in a product

    or service.

    However, having said that, its worth keeping in mind that there is a

    mind-boggling amount of brands out there for practically every product

    and service you can find under the sun. What to go for? Which one should I

    choose? Whats the best one? Which brand is better? These are but a few of

    the oft-asked questions when going through the decision making struggles

    that accompany our day-to-day purchases or usage of products and services.

    But worry not, because the Campus Plus Brand Choice Survey 2014 not

    only revealed what are the top brands for each category of product and

    services, but ultimately (hopefully?) make your future purchase decisions a

    more informed one. So go ahead, check out the following pages to find the

    brands, products and services that you voted for, and see for yourself which

    one of these are truly the ones that you can connect with.

  • Dashing Looks, Inside and OutThe New Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G

    The latest variant of the Toyota Corolla Altis is here to open doors to new driving experiences. Embracing Toyotas philosophy of endless improvement, Toyota responded to market demands and introduced a 1.8G variant with an upgraded equipment package.

    To make things simple and intuitive, the new Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G is equipped with a smart entry and start system. This feature grants drivers a fresh experience of keyless entry. No longer will you have to go through the hassle of using keys. Instead, the routine of starting the engine just requires you to push a button!

    Optitron Meter Combination & Multi Information DisplayThis car is equipped with an upgraded Optitron instrument panel, very much identical to the ones found in Lexus models. With a 3-dimensional appearance, Optitron meters are luminous and clear, making them easy to view under any lighting condition. In addition, it has a Multi Information Display panel, which makes it easy to monitor various aspects of the car.

    The Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G now starts off at RM119,900 on-the-road (OTR) with insurance. As with most models from UMW Toyota Motor, it comes with a three-year or 100,000km warranty depending on whichever comes first.

    The new variant is also much more classy. Its black interior and combination leather seats create an overall ambience of sporty elegance and class. Apart from that, the centre cup holders between the front seats and the front foot well are illuminated.

    Dynamic InfotainmentThe Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G is now equipped with a DVD-AVX system that comes with a reverse camera. Among the many features of this system include Smartphone Connectivity (for selected smartphones only), which allows the wireless transmission of audio and video content to be displayed on a large 7-inch multi-touch screen. Apart from that, it supports Wi-Fi connectivity; has an Internet Browser; Voice Recognition; a HDMI slot; a USB slot; Bluetooth connectivity; and as mentioned, a reverse camera with Guide Lines (Static Guide Line).

    Theres also the option to go for the DVD-AVN system, which adds a navigation system. The navigation system has maps for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, and is customised with the Toyota Network.

    This years Campus Brand Choice Survey took place from mid-August to 25th

    of September 2014 on Campus Plus magazines Facebook page. It saw the

    participation of 4,479 Malaysian students from colleges and universities

    across Malaysia, and represents an 8.85% increase in participants over last

    years survey. Over the next few pages, you can see the surveys breakdown/

    demographics of its participants. Following that (from page 8 onwards), you

    can find out who are the champions/winners of the Campus Brand Choice

    Awards 2014 in their respective categories.
